Torchwood Rant

Those of you who don't want to be spoiled about season 4 don't read further. And those who still believe RTD is the biggest genius in tv-world and Torchwood still a show worth watching you probably want read this either. All the others I'm referring to articles like this which were showing up all around the inetrnet, dealing with the things ( Read more... )

I mean I know that people in tv/movie-business need to be a bit crazy - in a positive way. That comes with the creativity. But RTD, i'm sorry, i think he has a serious mental problem. They way he gives his interviews, he threads media etc. That's in no way normal. I've never seen a creator to be so destructive towards his own creation. Usually they would protect them againts the network execs and anyone else. He destroys it with a blink of an eye and expects anyone to applaud him for that.

Thanks good I quit any TW-palce which isn't safeianto or antigwen at the end of last year. I woudl end up ine dnelss fights with those we still can love this new season - and i really can't see how they could.

I can't help comparing Rusty with Steven. Most people don't remember this or weren't involved but back in 2004, Steven was getting into Dr Who and coming off of Coupling. See, with Coupling, not sure what you know so I'll just recap everything, there was Jeff played by Richard Coyle. He was a huge fan favorite on the show but he chose not to come back for the fourth season. Steven wrote a new character named Oliver, very similar but not quite the same. As with everything, the internet fans were awful especially those on the official BBCA board. They tore him apart and poor, naive Steven still read everything at that point so he's singlehandedly trying to defend his creation. After a while, he just stopped and it came out that someone asked him about it on Outpost Gallifrey. He explained how he just got tired of it and couldn't do it anymore. He was sick of the criticism over Oliver. Of course, Steven has had criticism since but I've never seen him defend his actions like he did over Oliver. It seemed to be a learning experience of not ( ... )

Rusty definetely is in the wrong business. He clearly can't stand critics at all. But if you're working in a creative business you never will satisfy 100 percent of your customers. Taste's too different. You need to be open for critics. If you take them to your heart is another question. But Rusty and those who still stand behind him necglect people the rigth to even voice critic ( ... )

I tried to keep same sympathy because I can imagine it wasn't easy to grow up as a gay kid etc pp.

That’s neither a reason nor an excuse. People have all sorts of crappy childhoods: being poor/sick/fat/disabled, being born on the "wrong" side of a town, being born the "wrong" colour or the "wrong" gender, being abused or generally born to parents who can't be bothered to give a damn hoot... etcetera to infinity.

For me he seems like a sad, jealous guy ("Ianto Jones is now my houseboy" haha, that's a funny one - and don't forget to walk your invisible dog) who gets off imagining himself as some bigwig. And he's obviously a closeted Mary Sue. Actually, you should pity him, not let him rile you up like that. He's just not worth the drama. Worst case scenario for someone like him would be - him saying something, doing something - and nobody cares. He'd crawl under a stone and cry his little heart out.

I think it needs a certain crazyness int this bsueness and a lto of people have broken biographies. but has behavior just isn't nromal. I've seen vids of him on conventions. I think he believes he's God or something in this regard. It's just a shame that people still feed his ego with given him such platforsm like this press tour or even with hiring him.

Add another thought: If people can't die they don't need food or clean water, they can't starve or being posined or infected. You don't need money to pay for medical care either. So what's to figth for? Yes space would become growded some day, power supplies woudl run short but not in a few months in the western world. We just would strengthen our borders and make sure the pur people from outside don't came in but there in no way would be a conspiracy against our own people.

yes to that and some other things you've said. sorry, can't say to much about the whole ordeal... *sniffles*
