Fitness goals and milestones

- I bench pressed 100 pounds yesterday. The lift wasn't beautiful, but I did it. That's a new personal best! I hope to be able to bench my body weight by the end of March ( Read more... )

WOW!!! That's really awesome! Like most people, I added "get in better shape this year" to my new year resolutions, but I've only gotten as far as stretching and some small body toning moves. But YOU! Holy cow, lady, you're really doing it! It must be motivating to have Mister Smash around.

T: "Hey baby, I benched 100 pounds today!"
B: "That's great - I lifted a truck."

Thank you! I've found that my goals tend to founder if I don't set them with as many specifics as possible and with a goal date in mind. It keeps me honest. :)

And you're absolutely right about B. - he inspires me to work harder.

Terri, you rock my universe. Good luck deadlifting! Also, I would like you and Brandon to dress up as Atlas next Halloween.

Stuff of note: Adam and I are getting a ring soon, we applied for a marriage license online, I'm stressing Peace Corps applications, and I bought tickets for Poland. I should write you a letter.

I've been rewarding myself with a couple new song downloads for every workout. Hearing music I'm excited about always gives me more energy at the gym and makes me stay longer.

I wanted to make sure that the goals were reasonable. I'm pretty sure that I can do them if I don't lose focus. Posting them on my journal for others to see and for me to review periodically helps. :)
