After we left the port city of Fukuoka, we went to Hiroshima to visit the peace park and the Atomic Bomb Memorial Museum.

The first thing that you see when you get off of the streetcar at the peace park is the A-Bomb Dome.

That's really amazing. Nuclear weapons are horrific things, and I think about the apocalypse-type scenario quite often. However, as you've described, perhaps the fact that humans have attacked other humans with nuclear bombs only twice in the history of the world helps to illustrate just how terrible they are.
