On a non-spoiler note, there were some priceless ads. I saw a dancing Scot (no kilt, just civies or dance costumes), and another airing of the animals that talked. Gave me a laugh I needed.
[Where do I begin?]Where do I begin? I was a little disapointed that Susan Wright wasn't put through a worse wringer, but there's no doubt that she doesn't come off as

I'm thinking Tom volunteered to give evidence in part to get back at Mark for saying they couldn't get together any more. I feel bad for the kid, but I don't really have sympathy for his attitude with Ellie.
Alec cares about Ellie and Fred, you can tell. He's all awkward about showing it, but he does. Alec pushing the stroller made me grin, then frown because I realized he might be holding onto it for support as he's getting worse. I also saw that theory on tumblr so that makes me wonder.
Don't get me started on Lee, Claire, Kate, and Ricky. They're all creepy and they all had something to do with Pippa and Lisa's deaths. I believe Alec and Ellie found where Lisa ended up.
This show is designed to make you rip your hair out and yell. Or punch a wall. Or punch Chibnall.
Yeah. I'll probably feel worse for him because of all the things Jocelyn will be able to question him about: the computer, not telling about Danny's friend, and even whether he's testifying to get back at Mark.
Actions speak far louder than words. So even though he might need the support, he wouldn't take it if he thought he'd be putting the boy in danger. Still, the sight of him pushing Fred was SO cute.
They're all guilty of hiding something. We the audience know that there was something going on between Kate and Lee, possibly between Claire and Ricky, and who the heck knows what else is going to come out.
You know the worst part? If we stopped to analyse it, it would all make sense. Unlike certain other Powers That Be I could name.
It might've contributed to my rough night of sleeping. Then again, maybe that was more the comforter being at the cleaners and feeling weird only having throw blankets on top.
Chibnall is so going on my dartboard of shame. He now joins RTD, Moffat, and Erica Messer from Criminal Minds. I have the feeling I'll be adding the show runner from AKA Jessica Jones soon

Angry Tennant Fangirls... especially the older ones?
Oh... you mean the grownups! But yes, we don't want to see him go. He and Colman are what make the show. Their dynamic is fascinating to watch.
As for Jocelyn, she doesn't exactly make herself very likeable? She makes herself out to be a cold fish, so it's no wonder almost no one seems to actually like her. Barking orders at her junior without an explanation is bound to make him upset. That said, it does seem like he's rather apathetic about the case.
Yeah, I kinda dropped the ball on that. I refuse to accept that I'm a grownup. I kind of suck at being an adult.
I've been all angsty over the thought of Hardy dying on us. And, really, him dying on Miller. It's like I'm having that whole sit in a dark room and cry over a fictional character issue thing.
The only other person I've ever seen him have this dynamic is Catherine Tate. Not Billie, not Anna Gunn, not Sarah Parish, not Jessica Hynes. It's just so fraught with UST that I'm screaming, "Kiss her, you idiot!"
Jocelyn does not make herself likable or a sympathetic character. Now, I hate Sharon, but if half the things she said to her are true, she is a terrible person and a horrible boss.
Frankly, I'd like to see the mature-minded fangirls rise up and protest the favoritism shown toward the Holy Pink and Yellow One. The ones who focus on that aren't really Tennant fangirls. They're fangirls of Doctor/Rose. IMNSHO.
RTD and Moffat don't bother with cause and effect. Not ones that make any sense as a writer. Chibnall... I hate to say it, but I bet we can find the logic to it if we looked. And it would make sense story-wise, unlike the mess made in DW.
When a boss asks a lot of you without explaining it, it's natural to be resentful. Jocelyn's secrecy might hurt the case because it's alienating her colleague who she NEEDS on her side. I wonder if he's not attaching too much to the case because he's worried about what might happen.
Yes, Hardy's death would really hurt Ellie, I think. She's grown to depend on him as the only one she can talk to, the only friend she's got. They have both been through the wringer on the Broadchurch case
( ... )
I don't want to see Ellie let down by another man again. They only have each other, really. First Broadchurch, now Sandbrook.
Tate and Tennant are just masterful together.
It's not the right timing, but he's trying to get through to her, to prove that someone does care about what she's going through. And he's so awkward about it. Big, ol' divorced grumpy man acts like a 10 year old boy when it comes to affection. I just hope the character doesn't meet his end. Hardy really is one of my favorites, not only of DT's CV but from any show.
I don't think Ellie filed. She took her rings off, though. I noticed that this week.
They do. I can see he's been trying to get through to her. This is not someone he just wants for some "relaxing," but a friend that he really wants to comfort and be there for. He really needs to take care of his medical issues, or he won't be there for her... He is really awkward about it.
I'm pretty sure she didn't, either. She should have done it right after he confessed, while he was still feeling remorseful. I get the feeling it's going to be a lot more difficult now. Yes, she did take her rings off.
And you are right, Tate and Tennant are truly great together. I wish they would do another project together.Their chemistry just sparkles, no matter what they are doing.
Yeah, this is nothing casual at all. This is a solid friendship, not that he knows what to do. I don't know if he's awkward because of the heart problems, or if he's just awkward. I swear on all that is holy and good that I will riot if Alec Hardy dies.
I still wonder if he's going to get out somehow. Does she sign then? Does she stay despite knowing he met an 11-year-old while she slept?
I keep thinking they need to do something on stage, but that would be a long time off. I'd love to see them do Noel Coward's "Private Lives."

This show will kill us. We. Are. Going. To. Die.
