Queer Heterosexual?

Several months ago I was reading the Savage Love column by Dan Savage (look him up if you don't know who he is) when I was introduced to a term that's been on my mind off and on since then. 
The term was in a response from a letter from a reader who said that he was a GLBT-supportive straight man.  I have no doubt that a straight man can be GLBT ( Read more... )

I'm told Dan Savage has serious issues with respecting bisexuality, so I am not surprised he is throwing around labels like "queer heterosexual".

To be fair, I don't think he was the one who came up with the term. I think he was quoting someone else.

And yeah, I've heard about Dan Savage's issues with bisexuality. From what I've heard he thinks bisexuality isn't real, and that people need to decide if they're straight or gay. Personally, I call bullshit.

I call bullshit, too. Especially since I am attracted to both men and women, and since he is not in my body, he cannot tell me I am not.

I really wish we could do away with any labels regarding sexual orientation and just accept that people will date and/or sleep with whomever they want regardless of gender. Sadly, that's probably too progressive for most of our stupidly homophobic society.

Yeah unfortunately our society is very homophobic and will continue to make labels on the GBLT community. :(
