Yes, yes, I know - posting twice in one day. I'm sure the world as we know it will end soon. I've been meaning to do this for a couple of weeks, but I tend to procrastinate almost everything these days. I figured since I had the old keyboard warmed up, I might as well do a few things ( Read more... )

Amazing, right? I hope to be more active in the future. It won't be as much as I want after school starts and my time goes bye bye, but surely I can manage more than this past year.

Thanks and I've been missing you guys too. I've decided damaged and sulking is not a good look for me so I'm working hard on my attitude and outlook.

I'm not sure if Martha Wells does fanfic as Martha Wilson or if Martha Wilson writes books as Martha Wells. But the fanfic is at http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/storyindex.htm. I love the Retrograde stories, but also highly recommend Inescapable, PX7-501, and Typical Day. Language is a bit rough in a couple ( ... )

Is there whumping in Cloud Roads -- I've seriously thought of trying her books but have been wary of trying new authors. Lately it's been a frustrating experience. Out of ten authors, I'm having a good month if one of them is good. So many need to learn 'character development', *sniff*.

There's some pretty decent whumping in Cloud Roads, especially at the end. Not as much in the sequel, but it's still good. Lots of angst as the main character doesn't know what he is at the beginning because his family was killed when he was young. He's able to shift between human (groundling) and his other form that has wings, but he has to hide it from other humans or they chase him away or try to kill him. Lots of insecurity and yet very strong because he's had to fend for himself so long ( ... )

Is it just me or does it seem like almost every movie coming out is a remake of something? So little creativity going on in that industry lately.

Phew, I thought you were going to mention Shades of Grey (although you shopuld google Shades of Frankston, it's hilarious!)! I would REALLY be worried then!!!! :)

I actually just heard about Shades of Grey this week and from what I was told, I do NOT plan on reading it. Sex is mentioned a time or two in Martha's books, but it is quick and vague and no details are given. She gives just enough information that you know it happened and it isn't very often. I can live with that.

What is that book about? I still a couple more weeks to read before school starts and all my free time gets sucked into the big black hole of "always ten miles behind".
