Ohohohoh! A new chapter of GAFFS! *squees out loud* I can't tell you how happy I am to see this, T. It's almost 1 a.m. here and I was about to turn off my pc for the night when I made one last check of my flist and this popped up. I've been up since about 6 and can't focus my brain any longer, but I have saved the chapter to my 'Tiriel' folder and will savor it with my coffee tomorrow. I can hardly wait! The toffee apple scene... *squees again*

It's thanks to you that the first part of the t.a. scene exists at all - I lost the whole file for 20 and only had the outline in the main file. Had it not been for the mail to you, I'd have had even more to re-write. Hope you enjoyed Meg, too!

Oh my, I didn't realize the t.a. scene was part of the crash. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who obsessively routinely saves personal emails 'just for future reference'. I'm glad you were able to recreate Meg and the nap scene--the image of Frodo's cheek resting on Sam's leg while he slept just warmed my heart. And Meg facing down that rebellious ewe brought to mind the confrontation between Aragorn & the Mouth of Sauron at the Black Gate. *snort* The whole chapter was just chock-full of things that made me smile. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the story--especially when Sam presents his Frodo's Rose corsage and the final, private "at last" scene that they (and we) have waited so patiently for. *hugs you*

BTW, I noticed over the weekend that you took all the HOC stuff down. I hope you're just tweaking and haven't given up on it!

There’s actually quite a lot of such waffle detail to come before they get their just deserts (two chapters thereof, since they have waited so long and they are both young…) There should still be another four chapters after this one, possibly five. I just hope I can keep you smiling for that long! And I can give myself the willies remembering the not-so-long-ago days when an inbox held 3MB max, and retaining mails was almost impossible. One of my S/E stories only exists at all because I sent it in an email to S; I’d forgotten I had written it and only found it when reading/clearing very old emails.

*blushes for shame, never having sent mail promised a while ago* Truthfully, finishing TGQ and its pwp left a huge void in my life that felt very much like a bereavement - I have barely been back there since (couldn’t face coming here when I couldn’t write F/S either; thank heavens for MM, where HoC nearly always obliges!) I can get post-posting blues after a single chapter; when GAFFS is finally complete I expect the Black Hole may last

He wriggled a little, to get comfortable, and his head began an inexorable sag downward to his chest.

Thank you Elenya - I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it. "Show Day the Third - Night" does exist - and for a wonder, although I lost the individual file, almost everything in it was still in the main file so I shall not be scrabbling for a lovescene as with TGQ. But there are a few chapters to come before they do...
