During the second 10 rounds of my Lifetime Fic Bingo game, 1996 to 2005, I read 56 fics. Of those, the five that I would most recommend today are:

The Assassin's Daughter by Lacey McBain (laceymcbain) (The Professionals; slash; 16,769 words)
Remember Me by Gil Hale (The Professionals; gen; 25,630 words)
To Live in Interesting Times by Taliesin (The Man ( Read more... )

fanfic, rec, reading game, other fandom, mfu, index, pros

Thanks for the great story. :)

Sorry I didn't earburn you when I first reviewed it. I usually check to see if I can find authors' LJ or DW accounts, but I guess I forgot for that post. Here's what I said:

"Finally we come to the Sentinel x Matrix crossover: Verity by KerrAvonsen. I have never been a particular fan of The Matrix and I haven't seen it since its release when I was 12. Nevertheless, I loved this fic. It brought together so many aspects of the world of The Sentinel and meshed them beautifully with that of The Matrix. It also created and sustained real suspense and a feeling of high stakes throughout the story. I really enjoyed the way it presented Jim and Blair's relationship, as well. This fic was my favorite for the year. 35,486 words. Gen. Particularly recommended."

Thank you so much! I loved how my subconscious kept on coming up with connections, particularly the "hey, maybe (someone) wanted to kill a lot of people because they knew that the world is not real"

You definitely racked up some big word counts! Isn't reading fun? I also like Green Day.

Om nom nom.

In my yearly posts, the songs I include are just especially popular or remembered ones released that year. I choose them with guidance from some lists I found, and a lot of them I don't especially like. For decade posts, though, I am trying to come up with songs that capture something about the time and that I do like. I have already picked something for 2006-2015 that meets those criteria. I haven't come up with anything for 2016-2024/2025, though. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
