The past, the residents and the magic of the O.Z.

Questions are answers unspoken

  1. Do you think that Ozma or Lurline exist in this O.Z.?
  2. How about Tik Tok, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Jack Pumpkin Head and others? Do you think they existed when Dorothy was around?
  3. How much of the O.Z. history do you think they have correct? Have they lost some of it or forgotten bits?
  4. Are there any other Witches ( Read more... )

I LOVE all these ideas and wish I could write something that would play with them...
(1) Sure!
(2) I hope so!
(3) Not a bunch, and I like to think folk history v. academic history are miles apart in TM...
(4) Aside from maybe alchemist-types and Viewers? I don't think so, but it depends on if there are any branchings in the House of Gale.
(5) Aside from Viewers? I doubt it. They'd have cleared out after seeing how evil!Az uses them as disposable resources.
(6/7) I like these best of all, yes. :D I actually kind of want to do a Sandman/Tin Man/Etc. crossover where all these fairy tale kingdoms are one 'continent,' so to speak... ^_^

My answers are based on my personal canon.

1. Yes.
2. Yes, but they had actually names and didn't look like the Baum characters.
3. The Sorceress burned history books so I would imagine that they've lost some of their history.
4. Yes, there were, the Sorceress took care of any that would interfere.
5. Yes: tree knomes are said to live in the Black Forest in Winkie Country.
6. The countries that are beyond the impassable sands.
7. Not sure.

Do you mean that you don't think they had forgotten anything before she took over?

4. Yes, there were, the Sorceress took care of any that would interfere.
And left other ones alive?

6. The countries that are beyond the impassable sands.
If the sands are impassable then how do they know?

3. No, I don't. It's like in the mini, when they came upon Milltown and Cain said something about Azkadellia trying to erase history and with her wiping out Finaqua. They still remember even though the Sorceress is doing her best to erase it or at least prevent the teaching of it.

4. The ones that could escape or go into hiding within the Resistance.

6. I'm using the Baum books for this. I wrote a part where a younger Garrett and his friends were daring each other to touch the Deadly Sands and none of them would. No one really knows for sure, but because so many stories have been handed down, they're too afraid to try it out. Travis once said that folklore comes from somewhere so there must be some truth to the tales. They know of the stories how Ozma and Dorothy crossed, but no one has a Gimp or a magic carpet. Garrett and Wyatt draw up plans to build a sand ship in their youth, but they never got a chance to build it.

Cain family gets more awesome everytime you talk about them.

But my current thought is WWMD? (What Would Mason Do?)

And Jareth vs the Sorceress could have been sooooo interesting ...

WANT! Really, definitely want!

I don't think Jareth would let her anywhere near him or his kingdom.

In fact, the House of White would fit rather well with the royal family naming patterns in my stories. House of Gale, House of Astaran (Fliaan), House of Suria (Ev)... *is glomped by plot bunnies*
Good bunnies, nice bunnies *feeds them carrots*

1. I really like to think so although I waffle on the various possible histories that would give the OZ ( ... )

I think that there's even a Stargate out there in the Deadly Desert. But really, most anything could be explained away well enough I'd be willing to believe it.
Of course there's a Stargate out there.

Sadly never saw 10th Kingdom you must rectify this immediately. Netflix has it.

epic-ness of a Labyrinth crossover points to erinm4600 and also this http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4276027/1/A_Different_Life and its sequel http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4696853/1/Similar_Yet_Different

As for the recs, *squee* like I needed further reason to adore this fandom wildly.

Or you can just come up my way and we'll have a pizza party.

A very LONG pizza party.

I will leave you with this: Rush a torture, ruin a torture.

Sorry.. I'm still laughing at #7

2. All I know is that the Deadly Desert and the Wheelers probably never existed, but the idea of them still stands. *squishes Leo*

3. History is in the eye of the person writing the history books. Mal says it best: "Half of writing history is hiding the truth." There's probably more history of the Zone missing than there are memories from DG's head.

6. No, but there's probably surrounding countries. Or not.

7. Again, *LAUGHING* As for the Nine Kingdoms, it's been my personal *gigglesnort!canon* that the Zone is the 11th Kingdom since.. oh... THIS story. There were origianlly two versions. She wasn't Morrible and, upon 'melting', she fell into one of the other Kingdoms and, once she'd regained a little bit of OOMPH, she headed to NYC to **spoiler for theredoormouse**

But I never actually wrote that one...

NO WHEELERS!!!! Does that mean no Gump/Bilinia/Jack Pumpkinhead either???

There's probably more history of the Zone missing than there are memories from DG's head.
Very nicely said.

What would one have to do to get you to write a Labyrinth/Tin Man/10th Kingdom crossover EPIC???

I was reading Return to Labyrinth 3 last night and LAUGHING because of the description as to why everyone was gone from the Labyrinth, then back.

I really wish Steve would get back into that one.

I'll put it in the hopper, but I make no guarantees Steve will hear it.
