...Adora. Poor dead Adora, truly a woman of myth and legend, or something. This canon demands a lot from us when it comes to filling in gaps, especially in the case of the late Mrs. Cain.

So what do we know for sure, other than the fact that she wore ribbons in her hair and she's dead because Jeb buried her alive, thanks a LOT annehiro? How do you ( Read more... )

Facts I figure about Adora:

1. She knew how to use the wooden spoon.

2. She never loved another man... I mean, would you?

3. Zero probably copped a feel, so she grew bitter and hard. (Seriously, I can back this up. If you look at the way Cain watches Lorraine, Resistance life makes you grouchy)

4. SHOTGUN WEDDING, omg. Or elopement.

SO that's where Jeb got the spoon-thing!! \O/

Fun fact: My mom can make Dad and the brother SCATTER simply by pulling open the drawer with the spoons.

LOL! Thats awesome, your mom rocks.

My mom used toothpicks. Omg!evil...

And (backontopicboo), she had to keep the kid in line somehow. No father figure, traumatic event, he grows up around roughneck Resistance fighters... yeah, beat him with a wooden spoon.

As is the brother. We were both spanked, but we deserved it ;)

I don't think I've ever written anything where Adora comes in to play as a major character/plot point.

I guess my personal canon would be that she lived a hard life raising her son and then followed him to whatever Resistance camp/hide out he went to. Eventually, the Longcoats caught up with them, she struggled, ....

I think it would take a while for Cain to get over refinding out she was dead. Probably not as long if he'd known she was alive for eight years, but she was still his wife.

And I really think Jeb has some major issues when it comes to family. He may never be a normal guy until he meets Linsey.

As for how I deal with the issue of Adora...I don't really remember haha. Many of my fics take place several years down the road. I think if I were going to set one right after the series, there would have to be a MASSIVE amount of character development for Cain, js.

For a second, I thought it was silly hat day....

I'm going to add to my earlier post.

As far as shipping goes, I do plan on having Cain with another woman (an OC I'm currently developing). While Cain never completely gets over losing Adora (no one does when they lose their soulmate), he does get through it. This OC is also a widow and they will help each other through their grief.

In one fic: I had Adora as a super secret spy who's the daughter of the head of the old Royal Intelligence Agency. They had a huge fight. And she figured the Tin Man Cain was the perfect antidote for her life up to that point.

Dad left her alone until the coup where he drafted her to give The Sorceress misinformation. Unfortunately, The Sorceress turned on her and sent Zero to take care of the Cain problem.

Also: I honestly haven't figured out why did the Resistance not check up on them after the fact. It's why I don't think she was a massive part of the the resistance.

Jeb buried Adora alive...

And now I can't get this image of a hand shooting up out of the ground as Cain lays down the Tin Man badge... I mean, seriously.

Zombie!Adora... ftw.
