Crack of the highest order

Feb 08, 2008 21:53

So, at the moment I'm working on a serious essay about the relationship between Azkedelia, the Witch, the Queen, and DG. Until I finish that, though, I feel the need to point out this - the web comic page detailing the consequences of the Tin Men's last stand ( Read more... )

the good crack, inspiration, fanon

...Jeb as the goddamn Batman. That's PURE GENIUS. I want AU fic nao!!

(My role in this comm is going to be to agree with people and demand fic about it. I... need to work on that. However I have a custom silly hat so maybe that earns points.)

God, like I don't have enough projects. the whole point of posting this is to get somebody *else* to write it.

I had a thought though:

Ambrose = Alfred.

OMFG.

Because Ambrose is probably rich and can make all of Jeb's gadgets. And he would totally adopt the kid while he went into hiding as Glitch to avoid getting whomped on by the longcoats or whatever.

...I had depressingly similar thoughts.

Wait wait wait... MOBATMAN, with a steampunk Mobatmobile! Oh damn my writer's block!

*swooping camera shots, deep naration voice*

Dark Defender of Central City...Avenger of Victims of the Witch...Mobatman!

and his trusty sidekick, Rawin.

...can't...stop...laughing...

"This is not crack. This is motherfucking heroin, made of concentrated awesome."

I have nothing more to add (beyond the obvious joke of Zero=Scarecrow which is funny on several levels.) so can I just worship you for the hilarity of that sentence?

I don't know...I was thinking of Zero=Joker for arch-nemesis purposes (also means we get to put him in clown makeup, hee), and Raynz as Scarecrow. Seriously, the freak is *clearly* a misplaced bat-villain some sort.

Also, certainly you may worship me. I accept offerings of chocolate, coffee, and amusing drabbles.

Hmmm, Raynz DOES make a better scarecrow, but I still (I thought it too at first) don't think Joker works for Zero. Where's his Harley Quinn? It's not Joker without her. (Shh, I'm a closet fangirl of Harley.)

Hmm, he's certainly half a two-face. No I'm certain there's a perfect villain out there and sadly I'm now hell-bent to figure it out.

As for worshiping, yay! My personal Parthenon grows by one more.

Amusing drabbles, when I attempt them, tend to be more painful than amusing. But I do have a talent for jumbo double chocolate muffins if that would please my new Lord and Master.

OMFG!!!! I had a moment! Zero totally is Joker, and Airofday is Harley! HAHA! Someone who can draw needs to make this crack a reality. (It must be a comic I say!)

So Az herself is who, the Penguin? Only with mobats? Oh hell that kinda works. No, wait, all that leather... she's Catwoman. DUH.

*Snicker.* I had the same thought when I read the comic. And I am quietly certain that the cartoonist did too. I mean-- is it even remotely possible to draw comics and *not* be aware of the utter icon-ness of that scene?

I agree. It's a totally obvious reference. I don't think it was just an inside joke either - I mean, Jeb's whole character that we know of - early childhood trauma of losing his parents, vengeance issues, a penchant for clever threats of torture to get information without actually committing any - he IS batman. Most particularly in the sense that, as head of the resistance, he really is the igcognito protector of victims of the Witch. And just like Batman, he's mostly losing the battle.

Because, unlike DG, he has no superpowers. *GET OUT OF MY ZONE, SUPERPRINCESS!*

BUT HOW WOULD CAIN FIT IN ALL THIS? AND GLITCH?

*is dead from the awesomeness*

*duh* Ambrose=Alfred. But still. What about Cain?

Mobatman's back-from-the-dead father can be.... um. Nightwing?

*pause* This all works way better with Cain as Batman and Jeb as Nightwing. But then it also demolishes the entire premise of this post. Cain = Gordon? I... I don't know. Someone else come up with something!

Cain = Gordon kind of works... in the sense that if DG = Batgirl, Cain is like a father figure. ? I agree that Cain as Batman would be awesome, but we just cannot let the steam out of this particular post. uhg. I don't know enough about Batman universe, either.
