"We will not allow the tyrany of the Outer Zone to continue," the Ev Ambassador, George Spencer, breezed with confidence to the Queen. Her husband sat by her side, while Adora stood behind them in the position of the Advisor. Guards lined the walls as if supporting them. "We are honoured to gain the territory of Hawk to our own. Their people are our people. They are under our protection."

"Even if some of those people join unwillingly?" The Queen asked with patience.

"You've already removed the useless waste," another voice interjected, entering the room with an exaggerated flair. Several Ev guards followed in his wake. The Royal Guards readied their weapons.

Spencer rose an eyebrow at this. Do you really want to start a war you can't finish? The Queen waved her arm. Reluctantly, they complied. "Greetings, Mister Hawk."

"An honour, Your Highness," he bowed deeply, a smirk on his face. "And it's General Hawk." She quirked her own eyebrow at this. Before she could respond, however, she noticed that Hawk was glaring at a spot a little to the left and up from her. She followed it and found Adora directly in its path.

"Is there a problem?" The Queen asked, patiently.

"What is that doing here?" he growled.

"She is familiar with the current situation in Ev."

"Be careful from whom you take advice, Your Highness," he hissed. "That woman killed my father."

The Queen looked up at Adora, whose face was carefully blank. "Indeed? Can you furnish any proof to your charge, General?" Hawk's expression of disgust was almost comical. He had no proof. "Well, unfortunately, in this state, our people are innocent until proved guilty."

"In mine, if they come to the attention of our police, then they are guilty. Prosecuting innocents is a waste of time."

"Interesting."

"We've come from the front," Ahamo spoke. "The condition of your people is... beyond... it's the Final Solution, a crime against Humanity!"

Hawk managed a smirk at Ahamo. Final Solution, interesting. "Workers for the Sorceress. They were innocent victims of a harsh regime. I tried my best to ask The Sorceress for more time, for lower quotas, but she would not listen. Not with the resistance the force that they were. It sent the wrong message to those who might oppose us." The bile rose in Ahamo's throat at the completely false regret in Hawk's tone. He glanced at his wife who was wearing a similar expression. Hawk, in the meantime was waxing lyrical about how selfless he was. "I tried to put forward to her that my people were dying, I ran interference when they could not meet the quota and how did they repay me? Betrayal..."

"General," The Queen interrupted. "The government of the Other Zone requests that you order your men to surrender and turn yourself over for arrest. Immediately."

"You're joking," Hawk replied. His fingers straightened back, indicating the many guards.

"You'll find, General," The Queen replied cooly, "we have no desire to waste time with the guilty."

"You won't succeed, Your Highness," Hawk hissed. "You're too beaten."

"We shall see, Mister Hawk. You're dismissed." She rose, Ahamo following her. She allowed her guard to open the door before the two of them disappeared through them.

"You're just like your father," Adora remarked, before disappearing after them. "Gentlemen."

The only thing that prevented Hawk from climbing over the table and snapping her neck was the regiment of guards, armed to the teeth.
