It was starting to become a theme. General Lonot would go out with an order and then General Lonot would come back with... nothing. Zero wondered who's head was going to explode first, The Sorceress' or General Lonot's. It was like a little show, sometimes the only reason why Zero would accompany the good general on his visits. It was hilarious.

He was playing with his gun when he noticed the stern visage of the general stalking towards him. "General, my search teams have returned from the Northern Guild empty handed." He smirked when he just walked right by him.

"She will be less than happy."

"She always is," he replied in a whisper, more to himself than the men gathered round him. He turned to follow the general.

"You made me a promise," she replied to the report that the general had given her.

"Unfortunately, there were complications with the Resistance spies in the North." The Sorceress didn't respond. 'Complications'. Zero kept his features carefully blank. "A slight delay... Sorceress, that's all."

She stepped out of the darkness. "The Emerald, Lonot. Where's my emerald?"

"We will double our efforts. Close the vice even tighter. All I need is a little more time."

The sugar in her voice vanished. "There is no more time. In seven days the double eclipse will darken our skies. If I don't have The Emerald in my hand by then, everything I have worked so hard for... all of this... will be lost." The treat was clear in those last three words.

"We will have it before then. I give you my word."

She turned back towards the window. "Something wrong, Sorcess?" Zero asked as she hesitated.

It took her a few seconds to respond. "I need to see Lylo."

Lylo was strapped in, suckers coming out of brain. He shivered in the chair. "Peer into the future," she asked him, in a soothing voice though Zero somehow doubted that the silk of her tongue was going to compensate for coming so close to the Viewer. "Tell if there's anything that will hinder my plans."

He shook his head and pleaded with her. "It hurts when I look to look."

Creepy Bald Guy, for Zero really wasn't bothered remembering his name, clicked his painstik, reminding Lylo that The Sorceress wasn't making a request. "It will hurt more if you don't." Zero want to kill him. He was just yucky.

The Viewer closed his eyes to concentrate. Zero saw himself riding alongside a tank with Lonot inside. "Those who resist you will continue to be conquered." Ah, damn. Zero wanted a good fight. What's the point if he was just going to win. Ease? This shouldn't be easy, his sister reminded him.

"The Emerald, Lylo," she prompted him. "Will I find it in time?" Lylo gasped in pain. The Emerald appeared. "Where is it?" The Sorceress asked, entranced.

"Lylo knows not. Ah... ah. But before the Eclipse, in your hand, it will be. It will be!" he was silent.

"Do you see anything that will stand in my way?"

"Lylo see nothing." From his tone, Zero felt that that wasn't necessarily a good thing. "But..."

The Sorceress straightened and looked at him. "But? What?" her tone was dangerous.

"Lylo feels... a presence! A glimmer of light in the darkness. Light from the Other Side." A picture of a house appeared.

"The Other Side," The Sorceress repeated, sounding peeved. "General Lonot. Awaken a Travel Storm. Take a small company of men, and just slip through to the Other Side. Find this light, and extinguish it."

General Lonot nodded and hurried out. "You knew," Zero remarked, after CBG pulled Lylo back to his cell. "About the light."

"You know my thoughts now, Zero?" she replied peevishly.

"Noo," Zero assured her, as if the idea was ridiculous. "My point is: this light. Must be connected to you. Or maybe, you."

"You're not as dumb as you look. Or as smart as you think you are. What is it you want, Zero? Sex?"

He smirked. "You're really not into this seduction thing, are you, Sorceress?" he stepped close to her to whisper into her ear. "I got all what I wanted from you already." He moved to leave.

"Wait right there." He smirked again.
