I find that conservatives generally have some weird kind of respect for rules and laws. This, coupled with their binary thinking seems to be at the root of many conflicts. Examples:
Police officers are bound to serve and protect. They put their lives on the line as their job. Anyone who crosses them deserves punishment. You didn't obey the order to get on the curb, you broke the rules, if you get shot you had it coming.
Vote tampering is a crime. Election rigging is not. Because those in charge make the rules.
Gerrymandering.
$50 late fee for your credit card bill? You shoulda paid it on time. And it's not always blaming everyone but themselves. Many of these same people, when missing a payment, would say "I should have paid it on time." And then look for a new credit card company. And when they can't find one with a more reasonable late fee, complain about how things aren't like the good old days.
