Summary: Daiki noticed something and he confronted Yuri (in a way)... Yabu questioned Yuri about something.
Daiki was muttering to himself as he dragged Yuri out of the school.
"Dai-chan!"
The mutterings continued as Yuri stagger along to keep up with Daiki's fast speed of moving out of the class.
"Dai-chan!"
It was almost a scream, loud enough for the whole courtyard to pick up and finally Daiki stopped.
"Eh?"
"Why are you rushing away so fast?"
Daiki blinked and stared at him before looking down at his hand that was tightly wrapped around Yuri's wrist.
"I.. uh... it's nothing.."
Yuri raised his eyebrows at him.
"Daijoubu?"
"Un."
He gave Yuri a small nod and then a faint smile before releasing his hand and walking ahead.
"Okashii na... Dai-chan.."
Shrugging off the feeling, he hurried up to Daiki, hooked his arm through his and walked home together.
"Tadaima."
They both announced as they entered the house as they took off their shoes and placed it on the rack.
"Okaeri Chii!"
"Ah! Okaeri~~"
"Okaeri!"
Takaki bounced to him and pulled him into a tight hug before beaming at him.
"Hungry?"
Yuri is used to this. Everyday, every time when he reach home, he would be greeted by his brothers and then followed by Takaki's hug. He don't hate it though. Takaki's smile is always something that he likes to see, the childish smile that makes him look younger than his age.
Smiling back to him, he nodded and watched as Takaki went away to the kitchen where Inoo was cooking.
"Inoo-chan~ Chii's hungry~"
"Hai hai. It's about done ne."
Yabu was setting the table as he placed the cutlery and dishes down on the dining table nicely.
He was about to go up to Yabu to help him when Daiki pulled him aside and away from the others.
"Dai-chan?"
"Ano..."
Yuri looked at him, a curious look on his face.
Is he going to tell me why he's been acting weird all the way home?
Daiki sighed. He was debating whether to ask since he entered the class and found Yuri looking at him.
He didn't want to, since it could be his mistake but he just couldn't hold back anymore. The need to know is growing stronger as time passed by.
"Hmm?"
A deep breath.
"That guy today in class. Hikaru-kun's friend? Who is he?"
Yuri blinked. He wasn't expecting this.
"My classmate."
Daiki frowned at him.
"How come I've never seen him before?"
"Oh. He's new. Just transferred over. Why?"
"It's just... today.... nevermind. It's nothing."
It's probably nothing. Right?
Daiki couldn't be sure of it but since it's a guy, it probably meant nothing. Right? Yuri deserves some friends too. He is after all, a human, a teenager. He managed to convince himself as he look back at Yuri's confused face.
Male friends though. Male only.
"Dinner's ready!"
They both turned around as Inoo walked out of the kitchen with the last dish in his hand. Takaki was trailing behind him, sniffing at the food.
Passing the dish to Yabu, Inoo pushed Takaki away and to his seat before motioning for Daiki and Yuri to go over.
"Hai. Itadakimasu!"
"Itadakimasu~"
The others chorused after Yabu and they started eating.
It was their usual dinner time, sitting in their respective seats they claimed since young, eating Inoo's cooking that they grew up with.
"Chii!"
A sudden exclamation from Yabu made Takaki choke on his food. Daiki laughed as he pat his back gently.
"Stop gobbling it down! No one's fighting with you."
They all laughed as Takaki pouted at Daiki before grabbing his glass of water and gulping it down.
"Yabu-nii?"
"Ah. Hai. I heard your class is going on a field trip. Is it going to be like a camp?"
"Eh? Field trip? I haven't heard of it.."
"Ah sou? Ja, when you know the details, remember to tell us ne?"
"Hai~"
Yuri nodded and went back to eating his food.
A field trip... a class trip. Which means Yamada would be there too...
His thoughts drifted back to the scene that afternoon in class.
Yuto's hug. Their laughters. Yamada's happiness at seeing them. The atmosphere between them. And lastly, Yuto's nickname to him. Chii~
Even though it's the same nickname that his brothers call him, it somehow seems different.
Someone other than his brothers, someone that sincerely wanted to be his friend. Someone that is also Yamada's friend.
Yuri smiled into his food, the warm feeling in his heart back.
He wanted to know more about them. He wanted to be friends with them too. He wanted to have that close relationship that Yamada has with them. And of course, he wanted to know more about Yamada.
He can't wait to go back to school.
