Commercials on YouTube

Today I saw a really neat commercial where a guy is stuck in traffic and grows wings. It's the CGI that makes the commercial and it's really done well. Here it is on YouTubeI wound up looking for the old Discovery Channel commercial where they guy went back in time and apparently changed something so that when he came back, everyone had antlers, ( Read more... )

I dunno, they don't sound too good to me. Besides, going by the whole commercial series, they do strange things to people. ; )

Nice commercial. I haven't seen that one before. :)

As for the werewolves in movies, I'm not sure if it's the technology holding it back or if it's the creative team. If the director or concept artist or whoever wants an ugly werewolf, then it will be an ugly werewolf. And most seem to forget that practical make-up effects can still be used.

I saw a werewolf on the new series of Dr. Who once. It's been a while so I don't remember exactly what it looked like, but I remember being impressed by it. The only problem with it was that it was obviously CG. The model was great, but it was not rendered well nor inserted into the live action well. A bigger budget would help with that.

Speaking of budgets, that may be why the directors would want to go with ugly werewolves. They come cheap. :)

I don't care if they're ugly or not, but they do need to be more realistic. I suppose it is a budget thing, but still, it'd be nice if they'd cut budget in other areas instead of the main focus of the movie.

That is a great Altoids commercial. I have a Firefox extension that allows me to save YouTube videos, so I went ahead and got it for posterity. :)

What extension is that? I've tried saving those in the past and haven't found a way.

Heh, I meant extension in the way that Firefox uses it. Thanks for the link!

That works pretty well although the interface isn't that intuitive, but it works and that's all I care about. Thanks.
