Without a doubt, Ceodore has never been the most clued-in guy in the world. Still, even he caught on that Ursula's been quiet since that talk with his parents. He trained, he worked in town, they talked a little in passing, but so far the topic hadn't been breached. Once was bad enough

Ursula straightened, darting a look up at him. She did her best to focus on the present, though was a bit slower in doing that than usual. "Thank you, but...you look as though you need it more than I do. What were you doing out this late?"
"It's not that late," he protested. Ceodore always preferred nights to mornings anyway. He'd be up for hours still, but he never could understand how or why Ursula preferred to get up at ungodly hours. "I was out for a walk."
He paused, not sure what to make of her delayed response. Feeling maybe it was best to respect whatever distance she was trying to put in place, he backed up a step and rested his arms at a parade rest. "Uh, am I interrupting something?"
It felt late for Ursula, but then she was nearly always up with the dawn and couldn't imagine being any other way. To her credit, she didn't lecture Ceodore about their differences, though. Some mild teasing was the most he received.
She shook her head. "No, you weren't. I was just...thinking." The princess sighed and stared downward. "I'm sorry...."
