Characters: Vanille, Relm, and the Warrior of Light Progress: Incomplete. Summary: Even more Memoria. Location: ??? Date: Sometime during the week. Warnings: Bad things?
Relm hasn't been sure what to think of that last memory. She hadn't quite realized that it had been something she'd wanted, if someone had asked her what she wanted most, he answer would have probably been 'cake'. Or, if she was being uncharacteristically capable of thinking long-term, the return of magic to her world. Certainly not people with no faces. And so she didn't quite understand why it hurt so much to have it taken from her again. She held Vanille's hand as she walked, reaching up to try to take the warrior's every now and then but thinking better of it when he didn't respond.
"The Chaos Shrine...?" She began, trying to work out why that sounded familiar. "-wait, what? You mean that place everyone's lookin' for? We found it? Awesome! We gotta- we gotta tell everyone where it is, then!"
Vanille's last scene hadn't been a memory at all and as soon as it had faded, she'd realized that. It hurt all the same. She wanted so badly for them to save Cocoon, not complete their Focus or turn into Cie'th, but she also knew the stakes were high. Getting that done would be hard and so she worried for her friends. What would happen here?
She was subdued as they continued walking and she held Relm's hand tightly. As long as Relm wanted, she wouldn't let go. Vanille needed the comfort as much as the younger girl, maybe more so, even though she didn't show it.
At the mention of the Chaos Shrine, she glanced up and frowned. "Chaos Shrine? Is this important?"
Relm wasn't sure what to think. She could almost see Garland - not quite but almost. She could see light reflecting off his armour and the movement of dust as his weapon sliced through the air and the marks it managed to make even in the stone of the shrine. She could hear his voice as echoes and she could understand that there was a fight happening. And while the significance of the warrior fighting using the darkness was lost on her, the fact that he was very clearly the aggressor wasn't.
She hesitated but eventually - very carefully - moved toward him, partly to make sure he hadn't been hurt and partly to make sure she remained stood between him and Vanille.
