Ricard similarly hadn't had reason to comment on the growing glow. He hadn't been in this world long enough to know how things like that worked, though he was slowly getting a hang of it. Still, whether the sky should be pink or not wasn't a question that came up easily in conversation. Ricard had been willing to ignore it, since this world had done stranger things (the fact that his son was suddenly grown up was foremost among those ( ... )

Maybe not as empty as he'd thought. Laguna put his hand above his eyes to shield them from the sun as he looked in the direction of the voice's owner, offering a wave in return. "Hey! This is Winhill! The whole place is kinda off the map, I know, but--"

He glanced over his shoulder towards Raine's tavern. The lights were on inside, indicating that the place was open for business -- as much business as they got in a town like this, which was really down to a handful of regular customers who would rather pay Raine to feed them than cook for themselves.

"My family is here. This is home."

"Winhill... that's nowhere on Gaia. So this is your world?" Ricard asked, glancing around the area once more. He followed Laguna's eyes toward the tavern, and noticed the lights inside. As small and quiet as the town seemed to be, it was a sign of other people there, and if there were people, there was information about this situation.

He nodded to Laguna. "Well, I'm glad you got to go home, but it doesn't really explain why I'm here."

"It must be my world... I'm really home, huh?" He rubbed the back of his neck as he considered the possibility. Most people would be over the moon to go home, probably. Even though his family was here, he was cautious about getting too excited. The Loires met a bad end here. Gaia was their happy ending. In Gaia, Raine was alive, Laguna had been able to meet his son -- he preferred it there, really, though he was certain he was in the minority for doing so.

"I'm not sure why you're here, but we can make you comfortable as long as you are. I'm Laguna." He moved closer to the armored man and extended a hand. "My wife runs this tavern, she should be inside. We can set you up with a drink if you like."
