"That is one way to put it." Came the mild reply to that simple statement, the blond sitting up from where he'd be laid to look over at the redhead. The change in scenery was half-expected, given the last thing he remembered clearly. However he could likely guess just what had happened after the acceptance of that bargain he'd made with the stone.

"Where are the others?" It was high time to pick up the pieces and move on, with the silent note to himself that he really should have known better than to have thought he wouldn't get bit by the power he'd sought to possess. Time to stick to what power he could gain with his own mind and ability and leave magic stones and other such pacts out of his plans for now on.

After an hour or so of fruitless endeavors, Cidolfus was ready to quit the Iifa Tree in favor of a city or two. He dragged Jihl along with him during his adventures here, only to be crushed by the somber truth of his demise by others. Uncertainty began to take its course, and Cidolfus found himself hesitating to walk beyond the threshold of this fanciful tree.

Returning towards the vine-like roots of the Iifa Tree, Cidolfus paused once he spotted two others nearby. They didn't look the least bit familiar to him, but that didn't stop the famed researcher from approaching. "Is he injured?" Dr. Cid asked once he got good look at Rufus. The blond seemed to be well, but the redhead seemed terribly worried.

A private moment interrupted...?

His back stiffened at the voice, surprise flooding his features. He hadn't expected Rufus to wake up so soon. His head snapped around so sharp blue eyes could rest on his President. And only a second later, he was on his feet, scurrying over to make sure... what

The blond gave the redhead a subtle look of annoyance at the hair tug and questions, though any quips he might have given to the questions died unspoken as the duo arrived and the older man spoke. "I'm fine, Reno." He replied as his gaze moved to settle on Cidolfus.

He remembered the elder doctor, all too well really. However considering the fact that he didn't know just how long the fiend which had been using him had been in control, it was possible the man here was the actual man and not a demon playing at being a man. "I am not, Dr. Bunansa. Though I thank you for the concern."
