Vincent had not been happy about being carried around for a large portion of the trip back to Lindblum, but there had not been any other way. They wanted to get back to the city quickly enough, and that meant that they would not stop and wait to get a wheelchair or anything similar. Something of the sort was probably available in Lindblum, but a wheelchair would have limited use in a three-story house like Cid's. He was going to have to spend a lot of time sitting still, so that he wouldn't bother Highwind. He was going to be an enormous burden anyway.

They went into the lobby of Highwind Mechanics, and when Vincent was seated on one of the other chairs, the others called for Cid.

Tifa was rather tired by the time they reached Cid's house, mostly because she had been the one carrying Vincent. She didn't complain - she knew that Vincent would hate the thought of being a burden, and she didn't want to remind him of that. Instead, she'd compensated by being almost overly cheerful, making light conversation all the way to Lindblum.

Still, she smiled in relief when they actually made it to Lindblum.

"Cid! We're here!"

Once Vincent was seated, Tifa went over and found Cid snoring on the couch. She patted him on the shoulder. "Cid, wake up!"

He didn't hear the door open, he didn't hear the shuffling, the man didn't hear a damn thing he was so deeply asleep. That was until Tifa was so kind to startle him out of sleep. Cid shot up at the patting, finally hearing her voice and the sounds from the city.

He tried to calm his heart down, but he was still a little frightened by being woke up from someone else. Cid brushed his hair back, clearing his throat. "I'm up," He stood up, stretching. "Just.. restin' my eyes." It was a horrible attempt to stop a yawn. "How ya doin', Tifa?"

In the corner of his eye, he looked over and saw Vincent sitting there rather quietly. Cid smiled over at him, chuckling. "Nice ta have ya back home, Vince."

"Thank you for having me back," Vincent said in return. It was a kind thing for Cid to do, especially after Vincent had attacked him and destroyed his house. The people of Lindblum would not be happy to see Vincent back in the city, he reasoned, so Cid would have another burden to deal with in addition to taking care of him. Vincent knew that he needed the help, and that he had to acknowledge that, but it was diffucult to do. It had made him even more withdrawn than usual.
