As soon as the Lunar Whale landed, Rydia headed toward the Garden at a brisk pace. She wasn't so foolhardy as to charge ahead by herself, but felt the urgency of this mission keenly and wanted to see it finished as soon as possible. Laguna's family was depending on them, and she knew Alexandria was under threat. They had to accomplish their goal as soon as possible.

Upon reaching the Garden entrance, Rydia paused and glanced to the others, especially Tidus. Thanks to their experience last year, they weren't completely unfamiliar with the layout of the Garden. It was time to put that knowledge to use. Once everyone was ready, Rydia continued. It was time to find everyone.

"Okay, so... this place is huge." And though Tidus was accustomed to technology, he still didn't know a lot about the Garden. And it had been a long time since he'd been on it... but he was probably the best guide they had access to, at least in this case. "They could be just about anywhere, but if Rinoa's possessed she'd probably put 'em in the least comfortable spot - where do you think that'd be? Dorms or classrooms or supply closets or what?"

There was a lot of ground to cover - and the blitzer shook his head impatiently, completely ignoring his own question and charging straight ahead, hopping the turnstiles and starting to run, his Skyphone switched on and latched to his belt for ease of communication, a line programmed to Rydia in effect. It was the best they could do, really. "She probably wants to keep 'em as isolated as possible, so let's get as far away from the doors as we can!"

Laguna shook his head. "The amount of students is too many to keep in one place and isolated. If Rinoa overrides the locks on the classrooms, she could easily keep them in there and given that a good amount of SeeDs are probably are under her control, it would be easy to guard the locked doors."

He surveyed the area. Laguna had seldom set foot in a Garden before but that wasn't to see had hadn't done so before. Still, it was hard to remember where everything was but if he remembered right, a good portion of the halls right in front of them were the classrooms. "This school is too big, I think we need to split up to find them. Rydia, Edge you go down this hall and Tidus and I will go down this one. Does that sound like a plan?"

First things first, Selphie was very annoyed with her friend and the perky brunette had every intention of letting Rinoa know so once this insanity was over with. Secondly, whoever had decided to tie these knots in her bindings really sucked at it. After enough working away at the ropes around her wrists -- and successfully rubbing them raw -- the littlest SeeD managed to loosen them enough to free herself. Of course, she'd marched right over to the door of the classroom that had become her temporary home and started banging on it, demanding release ( ... )

"Calm down Selph, last thing we need is to aggravate the SeeD," quipped the cowboy who was tied up beside her, now was alone. He didn't have the tack to untie himself, nor the motivation. He couldn't believe he fell for something that stupid from Rinoa. He didn't know what to do or think right now. And without his phone he could warn anyone.

He felt helpless right now as he just looked down to the ground. The only thing he could do now, was wait.

"Edge, did you hear that?" Having split off from Laguna and Tidus to cover more ground, Rydia paused and tilted her head. She had been about to head in the opposite direction, but upon hearing that banging noise began to walk toward it. "Hello?" Hopefully, it was someone who needed rescuing and not a trap....

Rescuing Ellone and Raine knighted_lion September 1 2010, 03:41:59 UTC

Sometime after Rinoa's "visit", Ellone had managed to free them both from their restraints using her magic. Something that Raine was still not at all comfortable with. But with the amount of torture the girl had endured, it seemed a petty point to harp on, especially when Elle insisted she wasn't a sorceress.

Raine had other worries too.

Ellone's injuries had been extensive and in her desperation to do something for her adoptive daughter, Raien found she had a talent she wasn't aware of. Healing magic. Fear bubbled up in her at the first show of it, which came more out of instinct than any true understanding of what or how it happened. It terrified her. Look what horrors magic had wrought on her home, her family... on Rinoa. She would never forgive Rinoa for this ( ... )

Despite the pain and trauma Rinoa had put her through, Ellone was certain, absolutely to the core of her being, that she wasn't ultimately responsible for what she'd done. Or was doing, whichever the case was at that point. It was hard to tell since the Garden had stopped moving.

Elle felt her head swimming, more so after she'd used her magic to sever their rope bindings, noticing with a far-away sense of surprise that someone was casting healing magic on her. Something registered that the only other person was Raine, but her tired mind was only partially processing what that meant.

"It's okay," she murmured, shaking her head as she held onto Raine as best she could. "I'm just... I'm glad she couldn't hurt you or the baby."

If anything had happened to them... Hyne, she did know what she would have done. She couldn't lose Raine again.

"How are you feeling?"

Laguna had been near frantic when he reached the last of these rooms. So far, he hadn't been able to find them and it was making his heart beat frantically. He couldn't stand the thought of losing either of them. The very fact that once the Terra battle was over, he could very well lose Raine all over again but both of them?

Laguna couldn't do it. He knew he couldn't. Not this time.

He rounded a corner and nearly ran into another SeeD. Whipping his lance out, he slammed the butt of it against the side of the cadet's head, knocking him out before he could make a call. Luckily, there was no one else in the area. Fishing the key out of the pocket of the kid, he slid it across the pad and waited for the door to open. Once it did, he let out an explosive sigh of relief.

Dropping his lance, Laguna ran inside and slid to his knees, taking them both into his arms and holding them tight. "You're both alright," Laguna whispered, a weight lifting from his chest. Ellone was noticeably injured, but alive. And that was the most important part.
