Summary: En route to Dali, Rinoa and Seifer stage a coup d'état. Squall and Irvine are imprisoned. Then Rinoa plays another little trick on her friends in Dali. Check here for more details. Also, because there are so many characters and things going on here

"You bet Rin! I'll be on my way," the cowboy stated with a grin.

He walked towards Rinoa's room, unarmed with a cheerful smile. Of course he was excited to reach Dali, he wanted so much to see the plucky yellow sunshine that he missed during this month. He quickened his pace to where Rinoa was.

Faster he signed the card, faster he'd get to Dali.

Rinoa did actually have a hand-made card. She looked up from her desk as Irvine entered the room, and waved him over.

"Here."

She watched him carefully, waiting for the perfect moment to make her move.

...How kinky of Rinoa!

Irvine noticed Rinoa at her desk and walked over looking at the card, leaning over. "It's nice...where did you get it? I doubt they have too many gift shops in Gaia."

He grabbed a pen and was about to write, before turning to Rinoa and asking, "So where do I sign?"

After successfully imprisoning Irvine, Rinoa immediately moved on to Squall. She didn't think he would notice that Irvine was missing for a while, but best not to take any chances. So off she went to find him - checking his office first, then his room if he wasn't there.

"Squaaaaall. I've got something to show you."

Much like Rinoa might have expected, Squall had yet to notice that Irvine wasn't anywhere one might have expected him to be found. He might have had a general idea of where any given SeeD was at any given time, but even he couldn't keep track of all of them at once.

And besides, he was busy with the assorted paperwork that came with commanding a Garden - holed up in his office, although he glanced up as Rinoa came in?

"Yeah?"

Rinoa walked over and leaned over his shoulder. "Come and see," she said. "This way."

She reached out to tug at his hand, hoping to get him out of his chair and following her out of the office too.

Squall blinked at that. It wasn't entirely an unusual request, but he certainly couldn't think of anything that was out of the ordinary that he'd need to see. It wasn't even his birthday anymore.

"Come see what?" he asked.

In Dali

With Squall and Irvine taken care of, Rinoa landed in Dali feeling confident of success. Ultimecia's words were still ringing in her head: Do not let word escape. She had to succeed.

She called Ellone to let her know that they had arrived, asking them to meet Rinoa at the gate. Rinoa was waiting in front of it, accompanied by Angelo. Other than her pet, she was alone - or so it appeared. In fact, Rinoa had two loyal students waiting just inside, not to mention Seifer. Ready to give her friends a little surprise.

In Dali

Ellone had gotten Rinoa's call and very excitedly told Raine her friends were there. She was so excited to have them all come see Raine. But she wasn't entirely sure if Raine would want to or be able to come with her to the entrance, so she poked her head around the house to find Raine and Selphie. The younger brunette would definitely want to come with her.

"I'm gonna go see my friends. They're here already," she announced. "Do you want to come with me?"

In Dali

Raine had just returned from the tavern, where she'd posted a sign to say it was closed for the day. In a village as small as Dali, one day without drinks wouldn't make or break the populace or her business. She sent Slai outside to play with the local children already, in anticipation of the visit.

"Of course I do. Let me get the cake." Chocolate with sprinkles, just like Rinoa suggested. Once she had it in hand, she nodded to Ellone. "Let's go."

"Whoa, is that for Squall?" Laguna hadn't known Squall's birthday until Raine told him and so could only guess exactly who it was for. He didn't need to ask Ellone or Raine if he could come, he was going to go regardless. He slipped on his boots and placed a kiss on Raine's temple. "I was wondering what smelled good earlier."
