If Faris had to be in port, it was port that was prefered -- that place where sea met shore, the smell of the ocean blowing in over the land, the wind in your hair. Without a ship to captain, it had taken Faris quite some time to get around Gaia. Luckily, that hadn't lasted forever. A ship (small for a ship, really) had been commandeered out of a place called Wutai in the midst of their chaotic shift in rule. From there, it hadn't been too hard to pick up a few adventurous young souls, and then, they'd set sail!

On this afternoon, the newly commanded Tycoon A name to pay homage to a home that might never been seen again had pulled into port at Luca, and her captain had set foot merrily on the wood and metal dock. Faris had been here once before, on invitation from Tidus for the opening of the Blitzball season. Knowing where he kept house, and one foot set in front of the other, the pirate quickly arrived at the designated dock ( ... )

Well that was definitely enough to get his attention! Uhh, loudly, too, 'cause he really hadn't been expecting that.

"AAAAGH! HEY!" At least Faris could be proud of his reaction - his very first instinct was to fight the arm around his neck, and the pirate wasn't nearly as oversized as Wakka. All in all, not too bad a reaction from complete inattentiveness earlier.

But that greeting could only be one person - as his brain finally informed him once it caught up with him again. "Faris! C'mon, give me a break!"

Faris cackled in triumph, the grip loosening as the pirate bent and roughly scrubbed his hair -- dark now, she noticed, almost all that blond completely gone.

"That'll teach ya to stick yer head in the clouds when yer out in the open," she added, before releasing him with a flourish, and a swat between the shoulder blades. "Gotta stay sharp lad, stay sharp," Faris teased, shit-eating grin plastered on her face.

Tidus fought his way free as she released him, turning without missing a beat to give her an incredibly petulant look. "Did you have to do that that hard? Man." The back of his head felt kind of like it'd been pounded with rocks.

"Just wait - one day I'm not gonna teach you how to hold your breath that long if you keep doing things like that."
