Fran made her way down the anchor chain moments after Balthier, the bow she had received within Memoria against her back, as well as a quiver filled with handmade arrows. She jumped the last few feet, landing with the grace of a cat.

She glanced around. So this was Zanarkand? There was something about this place that she couldn't quite find the words to describe. With long strides, she quickly caught up to Balthier, falling into step beside him.

Shortly after Basch had made contact with Balthier -- or the other way around -- a crowd of Moogles discovered his location. He wasn't sure why he doubted their impeccable sense of smell, particularly of kupo nuts, and though he had disposed of them not half an hour ago, still the scent lingered on his clothing. They were smart creatures, and evidently did not take long to find him.

Once he had managed to steer mostly clear of them, he paused by a collapsed structure, having not been in range of Balthier's call.

Continuing his walk through the ruins, Balthier made no idle conversation with Fran. It wasn't that he had nothing to say, but the sting of her 'setting him free' had burned rather badly and it lingered when he was alone with her. It wasn't that he didn't care about her, no he loved the woman, but he didn't handle love like a mature adult.

In fact, Balthier didn't know whether he was in love with her. He'd never wanted to be and still wished to remain entirely apart from messy matters of the heart. Love was only important in the bedroom, nowhere else.

Spotting a flash of red, hazel eyes narrowed and he smirked, jogging towards the Captain. "Basch! It's good to see you. You're looking well, all things considered."

Fran followed, stopping a few steps behind Balthier, one hand coming to rest on her hip, the other resting freely at her side. The whole mess of their relationship bothered her greatly, but it wasn't something she would bring up. It would probably make things worse in the long run if she did. So she would simply stay quiet as they attempted to paper over the cracks in their partnership and brush them aside.

She noticed a line of moogles - the very moogles Basch thought he had escaped, not too far in the distance. "Making friends, it would seem, Captain?"
