I found it very significant that Tom didn't try to use his charms on Hepzibah. I mean, Mr. Borgin was certainly aware that Hepzibah was hopelessly infatuated with his young assistant and that's why he sends Tom there. In his first night in Hogwarts Harry has a strange dream. He dreams he's wearing Quirrel's turban which keeps telling him he must be in Slytherin, then as the turban gets heavier and heavier he sees Malfoy, then Malfoy turns into Snape whos laugh becomes cold and high-pitched and then he sees a blast of green light. Just wondering. Snape is a capricorn. The sign of capricorn is a goat. Aberfoth Dumbledore is associated with goats and it's him who catches Snape. Foreshadowing anyone?
