Chapter One-Uninvited

Like any uncharted territory,
I must seem greatly intriguing.

Dean meets her in a biker bar off the beaten track of North Carolina and she stands out immediately in her designer purple dress, handbag and shoes that are probably worth more then the actual bar itself. She looks as flawless as uncut ice and she reminds him of a china doll; untouchable but meant to be admired all the same.

She’s sat on a stool tracing the tips of her finger around a half full pint glass of beer and she’s staring vacantly inside it. After a brief moment she picks it up and presses her lips against the glass before draining the liquid in a few short gulps. He's intrigued as she doesn't seem like the beer drinking type of girl but then again she doesn’t seem like the type of girl to be in a biker bar, yet here she is.

‘Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.’ by Poison begins to play on the Jukebox and he notes that she’s biting down hard on her lip as each word of the song washes over her.

‘But now I hear you found somebody new and that I never meant all that much to you,
To hear that tears me up inside and to see you cuts me like a knife.’

He makes his way towards the bar and sits on the empty stool that’s beside her. As he does he catches a glimpse of her creamy white legs and it causes him to shiver deliciously. He’d spent a long time in hell and an even longer time without a woman’s touch.

"I wouldn't have expected a pretty girl like yourself to be drinking beer in a place like this." He comments and looks pointedly at her attire before flashing her a wide grin.

"Yeah well, there is a lot you don't know about me." She doesn’t even look at him and she raises her arm to signal the barman so that she can buy another drink.

“I’ll get it.” Dean tells the barman while flashing a smile at her again. She looks up this time and hazel meets blue as she gives him an unimpressed look.

She scoffs and rolls her eyes. ‘Look, I’m not going to sleep with you. So you can take you’re drink and --’
“Woah easy there tiger, It’s just a drink.’ He says casually. She’s sassy, he likes that.

She gives him a long contemplative look before she shrugs her shoulders and begins her request.  “I’ll have a pint of Carlsberg and two shots of tequila.’

She pauses for a moment and then continues. ‘Without the salt.’

‘Coming right up.’

He orders the same for himself and he hands her the drinks. They both shoot the tequila at the same time and Dean grimace as the liquid slides down his throat.
She doesn’t.

'Pretty hardcore.'

'Hmm.'  She replies and she begins on the pint of beer. She doesn’t say anything else after that and he racks his brain to say something to her. He could throw her a chat up line or two but he gets the feeling that she wouldn’t appreciate it.

‘So how come you’re dressed so fancy? I mean don‘t get me wrong, you look nice’ He pauses. Nice doesn‘t quite cut it when describing the way she looks; stunning would be a better choice of word.
‘But it’s not really the right kind of clothing that I’d expect someone in here to wear.’ He glances over at the people inhabiting the bar -- they are all clad in leather and denim -- before returning his gaze to her.

‘It was my best friends wedding. I was the maid of honor.’ She answers him and her eyes fall to the floor and focus on her expensive shoes.

‘Oh I see. The after party is here and all these bikers are the guests?’ He attempts to crack a joke and it’s not totally lost on her. She smiles half-heartedly but he doesn’t care, because it’s still a smile nonetheless.
‘You look pretty when you smile.’ He observes gently and he tilts his head in her direction.

‘So I didn’t look pretty before?’ She asks and her eyes light up in an almost cheeky manner and she kinks her eyebrow. Dean has to stop himself from laughing aloud because he can't figure her out, at all.

‘Do you want me to answer you honestly? Because I wouldn’t want you to think I was trying to sleep with you.’ He quirks and she laughs this time. It’s genuine and it rings sweetly in his ears.

‘Follow me.’ She reaches out and interlocks her fingers in his and he’s shocked at how quickly she’s gone from aloof to suddenly very bold, but he refuses to complain and he follows her out the bar while she leads him around the back.
It’s dark outside but the moon reflects onto her bare skin radiantly and although the air is warm with the summers night breeze, she’s shivering and her bare arms are freckled with goose bumps.

‘I just need to feel.’ She whispers to him softly as she backs herself against a wall and tugs him against her.
For a moment she looks unsure of herself but then she kisses him and he’s eager with lust. Her tongue massages against his own and he can taste the beer in her mouth as he explores every crevice. He’s getting lost in the moment and his hand starts trails up her leg softly.
‘Wait.’ She says breathlessly and he see’s that she’s still shaking. He decides she has probably never done this before,  and he doesn’t realize how wrong he is.
‘Is there not somewhere we can go? Somewhere a little more private.’
He nods and he silently leads her towards his Chevy Impala. He opens the back-door for her and she crawls inside and splays herself out on the back-seat. He too gets in and he climbs on top of her and they resume kissing. As she removes his shirt, he stops kissing her for a moment and she asks him what’s wrong.
‘I don’t even know you’re name. It’s not like I can call you pretty girl all night.’

He suddenly feels her limbs harden and the colour drains from her face. He cocks his head in confusion and when she doesn’t answer he whispers.
‘It’s okay, if you don’t want to tell me. You’re mysterious and that’s sexy.’ And he bends his head down to kiss her and she moves her face away before straightening up.
‘This was a bad idea.’ She states and she’s quickly picking up her handbag and making her way out the car door.
‘What the hell?’ He says in exasperation and she throws him a dark look.
‘I’m sorry I couldn’t be that girl for you! ’ She quips sarcastically, and he’s suddenly not liking the fact that she’s sassy.
‘Excuse me It was you’re idea to do this, Mrs Prick Tease.’ He retorts back.
‘Go to hell you ass-hole.’ She rasps angrily and he laughs and tells her he’s already been there and got the tee-shirt.
She’s about to walk away when her phone rings and she rummages through her bag furiously. She finally grabs it out of her bag and as she notices the Caller ID her demeanour changes and she drops the clutch bag and doesn’t pick it up.
‘Erm, Lucas, Hi.’ She manages to stutter as she places the phone to her ear. She places a hand to her chest and she closes her eyes.
‘What?! Is she okay? Oh My God….Oh God, Luke I --’ Her eyes snap open and she starts to cry; hot tears spilling out of her hazel eyes and streaming down her face.

‘I’m coming to the hospital.’ She chokes out before putting the phone down.

‘Are you okay? Do you need a ride?’ Dean asks as he reaches out and grabs her arm as she walks away.
‘No I do not!’ She turns around and pushes him off.

‘Take this, it’s money for a cab.’ And she stops this time and begrudgingly takes the forty dollars he‘s handed to her, because she really doesn’t have enough money to get a taxi.

‘Thanks. If you give me your address I’ll send you the money.’
He shakes his head and tells her there’s no need and she just shrugs -- She doesn’t have time to argue -- before dialling the number for a cab.

They stand in complete silence as she awaits for the arrival of the taxi and she’s leaning against his car and silently crying. He wants to try and comfort her, but he’s not that type of guy and he senses that she doesn’t want him to do anything anyway. So he does nothing and after fifteen long minutes the cab arrives and she leaves without saying goodbye.

‘What a disappointing night’ He thinks to himself and as he goes to get into his car he notices that in the heat of it all, she’d left her bag on the floor.
He groans because he knows that he’s somehow going to have to find her and return it. He looks through the bag, and finds a business card with a name on.

‘Brooke Davis, hey?’ He says aloud, finally being able to put a name to the elusive face.

‘Looks like I’ll be seeing you again.’ He speaks before getting into his car and he doesn’t realize how right he is.
