OH JESUS CHRIST. THIS POST HAS MADE MY LIFE.

So, I totally fail at internet-surfing and had never seen like half of these photos before. OH MY GOD. Unnecessary clinging! Space chess boyfriends! Leonard Nimoy wearing a Leonard Nimoy shirt! XDDDDDDD

And, <3, DeForest Kelley. :D I haven't read much about him, but from what I have read, and the few interviews I've seen, he definitely seems like the sweetest guy on the cast -- the only person, I take it, who got along equally well with Shatner and Nimoy and with the supporting actors. And he just seems so sincere and unpretentious about everything. Shatner is like MR. OBNOXIOUS SEXYPANTS, and Nimoy is an ~ARTIST~, but Kelley is just this wonderful guy. <333

I've got to admit, I think Spock is drop-dead fucking gorgeous, physically and otherwise; but if I had to pick between the actors, I'd go with Kelley, for sure.

And OMFG BARBEQUE WHAT. WHAT.

I shall be running away and eloping with all these photos now, if you don't mind.

EEEEEE :D

I have come across stories about Shatner being a total asshole to Kelley, and the thought genuinely upsets me. Like, more than any other Shatner stories I've heard. But then again they're always very vague and comes from dubious sources ("I once heard that...") and always seems to spring out of the WE WHO REALLY REALLY HATE SHATNER camp, so until further proof comes up I'm going to regard them as untrue. All actual proper sources (including Kelley himself) says that they got along swimmingly, which makes me squeeful.

And OMFG BARBEQUE WHAT. WHAT.

CUTEST THING EVER AMIRITE. And those are just my personal pick of the series, I keep coming across more - I've got three or four others so far.

Well, it seems like Shatner was kind of an asshole to everybody, but not necessarily out of actual malice. I saw a recent-ish interview (I wish I could remember where the YouTube link was, because it was quite amusing) where Shatner and Nimoy were talking about their Star Trek days, and they told this long story about how Shatner was sooo irritated that Nimoy would ride his bike to the lunchroom/cafeteria/whatever, because it meant Nimoy always got there ahead of everyone else. So they talked about all the ways Shatner tried to deprive Nimoy of his bike. One time he hid the bike in his dressing room with his Rottweilers guarding it. Another time, if I recall, he used ropes to pull it up into the rafters while Nimoy was away. A third time, he hid it in his car. (Uh, I think that's called theft ( ... )

The ongoing bike prank is a pretty endearing story actually XD That seems more like good friends fooling around to me. But Shatner seems to just lack a few filters when it comes to people he doesn't have that kind of relationship with (the whole Takei drama, various guest actors who thought he was tremendously petty and inconsiderate on set, etc.), but I'm not very informed on these things. When I come across unpleasant stories I try not to read them.

But you're right, Shat doesn't strike me as a malevolent person, more like just Shatner being Shatner. After what I've seen of him and Nimoy together, it seems like Nimoy dares to call him out on it and rein him in as it were, perhaps that's one of the reasons why they're such close friends.

Would you perchance be willing to share them? Pretty please?

Your wish is my etc. :D

Vulcan chick in next-to-last picture is Kirstie Alley, which means that photo comes from behind the scenes on The Wrath of Khan. Very nice.

ETA: And thanks for posting these, I should have said.

Ooh, that's Kirstie Alley? I've heard she was in one of the Trek movies (which I'll see as soon as I finish the series) but I'd never recognize her.

Cheers being a show my mother used to watch, I think it's just possible the first time I saw Wrath of Khan I recognized Kirstie Alley but wasn't sure who the other characters were.

I'm 80% sure the western in question is one of the OK Coral movies. Which you know, TOTALLY NARROWS IT DOWN considering the era. But it can only be retold so many times right? RIGHT?

Ooh, that does narrow it down, thank you! It's not Gunfight at the OK Corral though, I've just seen that. Wow, did he really pop up in more of them? Cool.
