The unexpected song of inner peace

"A song that offers some peace in what is a very messed up world," said, the friend who send me the link to this video.

I don't know if it's odd to find this particular song comforting, , but we both did last night, in the middle of all the madness on Facebook after the terrorist atacks in France, with people quarelling unfriending each other over ( Read more... )

{{{Hugs}}}, Dari. I'm glad I'm not on Facebook at times like these. As it is, I feel I have to insulate myself from the coverage on TV. It's hard to get away from it at work. At the places where I usually eat my lunch, there's always a TV on. Usually, it's showing something innocuous, but today it was endless details about the attacks and how they were orchestrated. Made me very anxious, and then when I went back to my register, I had this older man/idiot come through who asked me, "Are you always this happy?" Sarcasm intended, I'm sure. Long afterward, I thought of the perfect rebuttal: "Are you always this compassionate?" That was so mean of him!
Tomorrow, I'll have to work harder at keeping my "bubble" intact. Assholes!

Thank you for the support, Sister. Wow, it seems you got more coverage of what happened in France than European me!

I've not been trying to hide from news reports or analyses (Facebook is much more bearable than an actual TV channel in that respect, I guess); I can even handle intelligent and relatively peaceful ideological debates about the most efficient way to deal with the "Islamic state" or the prevention of future terrorist attacks, but it's too much for me when people get at each other's metaphorical throats over such things as profile pictures.

Good luck with protecting your "bubble"!

*hugs back*
