I took this photo the other night, right before this silkworm - the last one of its batch, which would just keep eating and grew much larger than the others - finally began looking for a place to spin its cocoon in. Flash photos of white objects are never good with my camera, but I had no time to wait for the next day's sunlight. The silkworm would be already inside the cocoon.
Just don't tell my mother and my sister that I held a silkworm over the kitchen table for better light - they won't be happy at all to hear that. LOL
I have some slightly younger silkworms that are still eating. I feed them a lot to speed them up because they need to start spinning before the mulberry leaves they eat turn yellow.
