I II III IV V Okay, so let's say the Greek Fates(Clotho, Lachesis, Atropos) exist in the SN world. And let's say The Demon(yellow-eyed bastard) knows them from somewhere.
Now, Dean's bleeding-out because of something and there's this woman talking to him. She asks him, "Tell me the truth, Dean. If it all hinged on one choice, all came down to the one decision--Sam or the world. Which would you pick to survive?"
And Dean, blood dripping from his mouth, says, "To live... I'd pick Sam."
The woman smiles and pats his cheek, says, "You'd light the world afire to save Sam. Now, give me what I want and I can keep him free, away from your enemy."
Dean isn't sure what she means(he's dying, after all, all his blood pooling on the ground) but keeping Sam safe? Sounds like a mighty fine idea. So he whispers, "Sure" and his head falls back and no more blood in his body equals dead Dean.
The woman stands up and looks around, calls, "Well, you got what you wanted. So now give me what I want."
A shadow filters in. "Very well, Lachesis. If you keep that arrogant pup out of the game, he's yours."
Lachesis smiles and tells the shadow, "Nice doing business with you, Croatoan," and kneels by Dean's side, touches his forehead. "Dean is dead to you, to Sam, to the world--so now you must leave Sam alone." She looks up at him, eyes hard and cold. "Understood, demon?"
"Yes."
