I watched The Covenant only because of Kyle Schmid (I'm obsessed with him since Blood Ties ^^) but then it turned out that this (stupid ^^) movie had a lot of eye-candy with Stephen Strait and Taylor Kitsch *drools*
Aaah. *grins* Taylor Kitsch - the name sounds familiar. What is he up to now?
I feel really sorry for Steven Strait, actually. He hasn't been able to get a big break yet - at least in movies/tv. I wonder how his music career is going?
Aren't they just scrummy? YUM. [OMG, I sound like a vampire or something!]
The plot - they were dealing with subject matter already so rich with lore, that their job really wasn't that hard. And yet... *shakes head* Have you seen an icon with the boys sitting around the table in the candlelight? Because that was prettiful. :)
OMG, yes. We could have written a better script. With some more interesting scenes, of course. ;) The cinematography was awesome, especially the scenes in the school and in that weird witches!cave place. Though my friend and I were wondering since when did a locker look so dark and deserted. :P
I don't know whether I'll be able to find one - I don't think there is a cap in the film where they show all of them in the same frame. If that makes sense.
So the writer's strike has left me in such hardcore TV withdrawal symptoms it's not even funny.. the opportunity to squee over Gossip Girl is one that I cannot pass up
( ... )
1) Ugh, I know! So annoying. They need to stop. Now.
2) Yeah, I was a Dan/Vanessa fan in the books. I would be on the show but she is so completely too good for him that it's not even funny. TV!Vanessa is amazing.
3) I hadn't previously thought if it in that way, but you're right in that her hazy motives contribute a lot to why she is so intriguing.
4) I'm willing to give him a second zillionth chance mostly because I love the show and don't have much of a choice, but partly because you may be on to something there. If he bounces back and stops brooding I might grow to like him. I really do want to like him. All right, so the other reason I'll never run out of second chances for Nate is the simple fact that Chace Crawford is just SO PRETTY.
5) Leighton makes me smile. I was delighted when I saw that she was cast as Blair. I mean, let's face it: Blair is Carrie Bishop.. an 09er that I found interesting and felt deserved a little more play
( ... )
2). Yep. Would you hate me if I said I'm a Nate/Vanessa fan? *grin*
4) *blush* Well, the prettiness may potentially have something to do with it. Maybe. :) But yeah - he's just been slipping all of this season - his 'crush', his parents, his girlfriend, his best friend, his grades... Because of his indecision and his strange desire to want whatever he can't have - it's ruining the security of the life he does have. I think the boy will always be a brooder, but I want to see him bounce back and try and make his own life.
6) I suppose you're right in that TV!Nate is equally as drawn to the security Blair provides.. and.. all right so I maybe hate him a tiny bit less already.. but only a tiny bit.I'll keep working on you, muhahahaha

oh yes, I had one more thing to say: the end of the last episode.. the Blair/Serena scene.. it made my little heart melt.
Their friendship was always my favorite part of the books. It was great to see best friends that were so dynamic and layered. It is somehow reassuring for those of us with friendships like that to know that it is possible to have a bond that surpasses all manner of obstacles - including (most importantly) those they create for themselves.
Oh, true. They have a beautiful friendship - despite the struggles for power and boys and their inability to deal with changing circumstances. It is somehow reassuring for those of us with friendships like that to know that it is possible to have a bond that surpasses all manner of obstacles - including (most importantly) those they create for themselves.. Definitely, and beautifully put. I guess it will help motivate me to support my friends this year when they need me instead of slacking off because I have my own problems and my own work. My problem lies with the fact they are always showing Blair needing Serena's help - their relationship shouldn't be that one sided, y'know? Serena isn't a goody-two-shoes, and judging by some of those flashbacks, Blair has had to pull Serena up more than once.
I would definitely like to see a lot more of the ways in which Serena needs Blair. It's actually almost more interesting than the inverse because Blair is not nice in the same obvious way that Serena is. Therefore, any assistance from Blair has to come in a very matter-of-fact, "Of course I'm doing this." sort of way. Does that even make sense? I'm exhausted and no longer have any concept of how comprehensible my sentences are.
You... are making sense, I think. My brain is kind of fried too, so don't worry. xD
:)
We know Serena really needs Blair by the way she was so adamant to have her as a friend again. Or, you know, that could just be guilt. But her advice, her support (even of Dan, in her own matter-of-fact, and in this case, grudging way) is what Serena relies on - and I can't wait how the dynamic between Vanessa and Blair plays out.

You'll have to point them out for me. ;)
I was GOING to watch The Covenant because of Steven, but when I ended up watching it it was more for Chase Crawford, because he's so BEAUTIFUL on GG.
Wasn't it stupid? I promised my friend I would try and work out what the hell it was about, but I haven't been able to decipher it yet. xD

Kyle Schmid had only a smaller role: picture

They are, LOL.
Their writers obviously fail at life. The directing was AWESOME though. And kudos to the special FX.
Nope, I haven't sorry. But you can try searching for "the covenant" and I'm sure you'll be able to find one. :)
