I totally stole this book meme and just did it in my LJ! 😆
I’m sorry to hear These Violent Delights was so bad. It’s on my TBR but I haven’t read any of that series. Don’t you hate it when a book sounds good but then turns out this way? :(
I started watching Way of the Househusband on Netflix recently! I want to read the manga too if I can find it online. Do you read manga online, or have the physical books?
Jade City is on my TBR! I’m excited to see what you think of it! 🖤
yaaaa, i was really disappointed. i'll still pick up the 2nd one, but it made me sooo upset when i found out that someone told her to make it a duology. it really suffered because it was split and we were deprived of a strong standalone 😩
money's tight so i've had to read stuff online. i still buy ongoing series i love with physical editions. if i don't know a series is good, i'll look it up online and read it, then go to my local shops or rightstufanime and support the mangaka if i enjoyed it enough! way of the househusband is hilarious and really unique so it's on my auto-buy list 😂
jade city is SO good. i just know you'll love it. the font is a strain on my eyes and the book is thick so that was intimidating for me, but it's surprisingly easy to read! i'm really enjoying it so far.
I can totally see what you mean! It sucks when books are ruined because of things like that. :( Definitely let me know what you think once you read the 2nd novel of the series! It sounded so good, too.
Yay, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying Jade City! It sounds really amazing! Once I finish the series I'm reading right now (I'm on book 1 of The Poppy War series by R.F. Kuang) I'll totally start reading JC! :D
omgomg i'm so excited for you to get through the poppy war series. i really need to get on that. idk if i recommended this book blogger's article yet, but she has a things to know before you read the poppy war trilogy that i think is worth checking out too for context and whatnot.
I'm enjoying following your reviews on Goodreads :) You're definitely giving me lots of inspiration on what to read. Oh and you also reminded me to actually start actively using my Readerly account *blushes*
While I still do not DNF a lot of books (not out of principle, just because I've been lucky to enjoy most of the books I have read lately), I completely relate to your answer to #1.
if i dnf because the author wrote something so egregious that i don't think anyone but my enemy's eyes should be subject to reading such content LOOOOOL
