Squeee! Oh that's wonderful! I love it! Go Kate! I like so many little things about this one, Henry's playing Cupid and its disastrous consequences, Will being sad, Helen not liking humiliation, and of course her choice of movie!

I'm glad you liked it!

I think Kate would see the patterns forming, although she naturally wouldn't be able to predict the eventual outcomes. And Helen, having seen how far women have comes since the days she was denied Oxford, would hold a special distaste for the humiliation of women in certain modern rom-coms.

I see Kate as the person who usually drags other people into doing things. Everyone else would be reasonably happy doing their own thing, but Kate would be all "Pizza night!" And if they didn't turn up at the appointed time, she'd go and drag them out.

Helen would definitely hate some of the modern rom-coms.

Hee! I love that Kate made them all watch a Bollywood movie.

It's a very Kate kind of thing, I think: to a) drag them all together, b) make them watch Bollywood (or, really, anything with singing and dancing)!

I love how it's the most ironic Valentine's Day when you look back at everything that happens afterwards. Win!

Lovely fic. :D

And I'm with Helen and Kate on that one. Humiliation =/= funny.

Thank you!

I have a humiliation squick - stuff that makes me cringe. And an awful lot of rom coms make me cringe these days.

Me too. My general response to shows or movies that threaten humiliation is to either pause them, or go look for a snack in the kitchen until the situation is past.

See, my general response to such shows/movies is to turn off the TV or walk away.

Or, if I'm really into the show to wince my way through it...
