[RL with Junpei] [Valentine Virus]

After getting dropped off by Hakuba, Shito made his way into the dormitory, looking around for signs of anyone he might know.

He tried to tell himself that he wasn't nervous. Sure, he had never really been on a date before, and until recently he probably would have said there wasn't anyone in any universe that he'd be willing to go on a date with ( Read more... )

Privacy?

Junpei had half a mind to turn around right then, because he had no idea where to go in the city that was really quiet. All of his preferred hangouts were jammed with people - the mall, the arcade, the movies...

Well, there was that place around Port Island Station. The thought left him with a sharp pang in his chest for some reason, though he wasn't entirely sure why. There was nothing really special about it... was there? Not that he could remember anyway.

"Well, we could hang out at the station by the movies... It's pretty quiet there... 'Least compared to most places."

Shito cocked his head. "Sure, I'll follow your lead," he said, oblivious to Junpei's mood. "A restaurant would be fine, too. We could go to a movie, if you want."

He was throwing out ideas, trying to think of the things he understood people did on dates.

He glanced at Junpei with a wry, self-deprecating expression. "I've never really gone on a date before. And as far as socializing, all we really do is go to all you can eat sushi - you know, with the conveyor belt? - I don't really know what people like to do for fun."

"I dunno what's playing, but we could check it out. I just figured you didn't wanna go anywhere too busy, and bein' Valentine's Day, the restaurants are gonna be packed," he explained, leading the way down the stairs back to the first floor.

"No big deal, dude. I uh... haven't been on many either."

... More like any. But that would make him look like more of a tool, wouldn't it? Besides, he kind of knew what he was doing. Sort of.

Well, he'd seen them do it on TV.

Shito nodded, taking Junpei's words at face value and assuming that he at least had been on a couple, despite his words on the community about not being all that popular. Even unpopular kids got dates sometimes, didn't they?

And it was certain that Junpei wasn't a 150 year old zombie with no social skills, at least. He had to be one-up on Shito in the dating department.

"Well...that's true," he agreed hesitantly. "But I thought maybe you'd be hungry, and that going to a restaurant was a normal sort of thing to do on a date. But whatever you want to do, I'm fine with. I really just want to talk to you, I guess."

"Well, there's a Takoyaki stand by Iwatodai Station," he suggested, trying to think. "It's pretty good stuff... Then again, who can say no to the delicious smell of Takoyaki?!"

He paused at the door, not quite wanting to brave the cold until they had a somewhat more solid plan.

"That way, we don't have to wait in the crowds, and we could finish it in time for a movie?"
