A fair number of songs made famous by PP&M were by Pete Seeger ("If I Had A Hammer", "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?" among them)... I also think it notable that Seeger invoked the First, rather than the Fifth, Amendment in front of Joe McCarthy... and got away with it, insofar as they didn't lock him up for doing so...

Also lots of songs that Pete didn't write, but that he and the Weavers were singing years before PP&M came on the scene.

I'm aware. Believe me, I'm not hurting for folk music or an awareness of who the major players in the folk music world have been. There's a reason I passed the petition along and signed it. I was making a personal statement about my personal direct influences. Somewhere, I believe, I still have a number of Pete Seeger records. Like, actual records. Made out of vinyl and everything, but one of the two copies of Moving was the album that I played enough that it started to skip and not be playable. There's a fairly short list of 'music I played enough that the media died' (though partially that's due to the advent of CDs which don't usually have that problem.)
