I have the exact same issue with enchanted frogs! A frog I could keep in a nice pond and bring crickets and we could spend lovely summer afternoons together playing with lily pads and listening to red-winged blackbirds, and I could protect him from great blue herons, but if he got turned into a prince then he'd need a castle and we'd probably have to go to balls, erg.
