All I want is a good header pic and working CSS

Is that so much to ask???

Downloaded a stylesheet. WTF happened??? NOT what was supposed to happen, let me tell you! And then I still know a little about CSS and HTML. Had spent hours on LJ boards finding a good script and making a header pic that I was rrrreeeeeaaaaallyyyyy pleased with! But, no - alas! 'Twas not to be! :-( *curses*

The thing is, I ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry! :( Did you get the one you wanted working? If not, I'd be more than happy to help you out. LJ layouts can be tricky (I know HTML and CSS and even I have trouble with them.) Just let me know, okay? Hugs! :D

You are too kind, sweetie! I should have done my own CSS from the start, I know it too, even if it would have been time consuming. So much fun to do it! At least you can figure out what went wrong on your own.

All those menues on LJ can be fun or pesty! In the end, they take as much time as making your own CSS. 8-)

Perhaps we can put our clever heads together over some fun CSS sometimes? That would be great! Have you done your own CSS from scratch?

Sure, that does sound great! :D If you have a design in mind, I can help you with the HTML/CSS on it, or if you'd like, I can try to help you get the one you wanted working, etc. Just let me know what you'd like to do! :D

I wrote my own CSS for my current layout. I couldn't find any that would fit with the Gisborne cookie cartoon, so I had to make my own. I'm thinking about making a new one soon, though. I need a change...

I think those LJ menus are what makes it so difficult. I remember when I had a paid account on my old LJ account a few years back and I did my own design. I had to break the HTML file up into tiny chunks and paste it in different places. It was crazy and it just seems so backwards.

Also, some of the default LJ layouts don't work right with certain CSS. I've had that trouble in the past. If a default layout includes custom images and stuff, it can cause a malfunction when you put your own CSS in there. It's kinda confusing...
