*Instead of dismounting Hama wheels his horse to the side, nocking arrow to bowstring and watching the lair entrance closely. Thus when the beast emerges he's sidelong to its path -- he manages one good clean shot before his unfortunately NON-Rohirric horse completely freaks out and reaches for the sky*
