Winter Event. Yes. Running boardgames seems like a good way to get to know other LARPers, so I like that idea for the afternoon. Man, these past few years have been really hard on my favorite authors and game designers. Gary Gygax, Dave Arneson, Eric Wujick, Robert Jordan, Drew Hayes, Robert Aspirin, and now David Eddings.

Reno Update...
Ok. The walls are painted, the carpets are in, and now all that's left is to rebuild the shattered civilization of my living space.
I'm not really looking forward to reloading all my bookshelves. It was no fun at all putting all my stuff in boxes, and I can't imagine it'll be any better to take it all out again.

Attention GenConvicts!
Heh. GenConvicts is what I've taken to calling the little (but hopefully expanding) group of us who went to GenCon last year, and were talking about going again. I'd dearly love to go again, even if only to wander aimlessly through the dealer's hall again like I did last year. The Renos....OF DOOM!!!!
Ok....most of my life is packed into boxes and stored out of the way, or in the way of us but not in the way of the carpet installer guys when they come. We've started to pull up the carpet, and since not everything downstairs is packed up, it's a scene of devastation. The stairs to the basement are de-carpeted...but there's still staples and ( Read more... ) -
Update
We are renovating the basement, with new carpet and painting, within the next three weeks. Ideally, the painting and much of the furniture movement will be done before the carpet installers arrive.
My entire life is being crammed into boxes as a result. It is stressful.
I have a cold.
