I finished drawing Jimi Hendrix tonight. I started sketching him this afternoon, which only took an hour, and then finished it up this evening, taking another few hours, so I probably spent about 4 hours on it. I sketched it in graphite, then went over it with a 2b charcoal pencil and blended using a twin-tip eyeshadow applicator. I used thick ( Read more... )

I finished drawing Sarah Brendel tonight! I'm very happy with this one. :) Her face, especially. I could be happier with the hair, but I don't hate it.

Last night I sketched Sarah Brendel, one of my new favourite singers. I spent about 2 and a half hours on it, using a graphite mechanical pencil on Strathmore charcoal paper, looking at this photo. I haven't sketched the star badge yet, cos it scares me. :P I plan to finish this with charcoals and colour in the black background with a Pitt ( Read more... )

Well, I finished Avril. It was a challenge, to say the least, to get it to look right. It's still not perfect, but it's better than it was. Thanks to all of you who gave helpful suggestions. :)

Well, I am a bit frustrated. I worked for about 6 hours last night on this drawing, and I don't think it looks enough like Avril. :/ It seemed to look okay in the sketch, and not too bad before it was finished, but now that it's (sort of) finished, while I'm happy with how good it looks, I'm not happy with how it doesn't quite look like Avril.
