Giles got through the entire first week of mainstreaming with no aide to help him out.  This is so incredibly good I can't express my happiness.  Miss Helme wrote a small note yesterday saying he was doing well in her class.  The only real issue that has come up is Giles tends to not get stuff out of his backpack.  I had a stack of papers that were ( Read more... )

Day two of mainstreaming seems to have went well.  The school has given every student a basic day planner that is spiral bound and Miss Healme goes over their schedule for the day first thing every day (at least so far) which seems to really help Giles.  I really think it helps him stay on track and I'm seriously considering getting him a day ( Read more... )

It was Giles first day back to school today, which means it was the first day he was thrown into the deep end and told to swim being completely mainstreamed.  He does have the support of his teacher from last year who is officially the one in charge even though he's not actually in her class at all.  He was also supposed to have an aide with him ( Read more... )

Tomorrow is Giles' birthday.  I can't believe he's going to be eight already.  When I asked him on Sunday what he wanted me to make for his birthday he said chocolate chip cookies so I guess I'll be doing that later on today.  Maybe once I find the kitchen under all the dishes that should have gotten done yesterday but I took a nap instead ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my brother's surgery and everything went as well as possible.  The doctor is fairly certain he got everything and said we were incredibly lucky that it was caught so early since it seemed to be fast growing.  Knowing family history definitely helped in this instance since they probably would have waited on redoing the PSA test for a ( Read more... )
