On the wake of my wonderful engagement news, the bomb drops.  My mom tells me that she can't afford to help me pay for my horse anymore.  I have to sell him.  She bought me the horse two Christmases ago and said she would pay half of the expenses (there is no way I could do it on my own).  I'm not mad at her...the way this economy is going I'm

Dont throw in the towel just yet! Can you do chores around your barn to reduce your board? Can you move him to maybe a further away but cheaper option? I put an ad in my local newspaper looking for board and ended up finding a private facility that was much cheaper than anything in the area. Craigslist... theres so many options! You can do it! But on the same token, know your limits. Its a fine balance, but often, where theres a will... theres a way.
