Attention Mary Sues: Leave Hiei Alone!

Apr 10, 2008 09:37

Seriously!  I've been noticing a pattern with all the "gems" that I find, and it seems Kurama's not the one feeling the most Sue!rape these days...

A 14-year-old German girl sacrified her body and soul to seal within herself an enraged demon snake. Reagardless, all others have abandoned her in disgust or fear. When she meets Hiei, will all this ( Read more... )

That's so funny, because I check ff.net everyday and the summaries you posted have made me eyeroll too many times to count. Some of those summaries are just...uh. No words. What makes these people think Hiei would care about them? Did we watch the same show?

*Uh*--yeah. I'm serious--I would so take up some piece making fun of all this, but I'm juggling my longer things and trying to get the Kuronue/Yoko thing and some other stuff off the ground.

But yeah, after all that, if this keeps up...

*Is rather amusing though, no?*

Oh good GOD!!! Where was spelling/grammar check with that third one? Every time I see a summary with bad spelling and/or grammar, I skip it automatically. I understand that some people use fanfiction as their method of practicing, but if you cannot get the 2-3 and sometimes 1 line summary written correctly, you are doomed.

German? 14 y/o? WTF is a German anything doing in a YuYu Hakusho fic? And what is with the enraged demon snake? Do I want to know where in her body this is? Is is me or does this sound precariously close to tent?

That last one is...well...full of ellipses. But who cares about her story. Maybe I am being a little crass here, but I don't want to read a story about a Sue in my fav fandom. If I wanted an original character, I would read an original story. It is almost like they are incapable of writing the whole original so they must screw with pre-made fandoms. grr.

Oh and remember not to use "a certain ____" in anything you write. There I said it.

German in a YYH fic--perhaps the same an American girl would? *smirk*

Yeah...--ellipses have their place in writing, to be sure, but overusage of it makes the person sound so...wishy-washy...and lackadaisical and...just plain...uh....

Thank you for your reminding.

Want to know something funny? Was watching Ninja Scrolls recently, and guess where the viper slid out from? No joke.

I call troll on the third one.

What is with the warning for OOC? Why don't these sue!authors just post a warning that they're inane fannits with a collective IQ in the Square Root Club and are totally incapable of writing their names, much less a cohesive, engaging plot utilizing well-defined and easily-recognizable characters? Oh, Wait, I get it... That's over three letters so it's beyond their feeble minds to understand. (OT- have you noticed the three letter trend? OMG WTF LOL OOC. I have my own for them: FU2.)

Write it! WRITE IT!!! You know you want to! It calls; it beckons. It screams in your head, unwilling to rest, unwilling to give you even a moment of sweet respite in its unending quest for existence, its journey from concept to tangible form. It's bitten you, thereby infecting you with the burning desire, no the NEED to breathe life into it and make it real. Yes, it is the plot bunny, and it PWNS your SOUL!

... Greatest. Freakin' rant. Ever. XP

Oh, when you put it *that* way ... you scare me just a little ^-^ But, perhaps when I've got a few other things better managed, maybe I will.

We are the Colbert Report of fandom, no?

I figure that I eventually must. If I fail, I fear that mhmartini up there may devour me O.e

Oh god, yes. Please, please write a satire. I need something to make me happy again! The FF.Net page is a huge mindrape almost every day; I seriously want to go through sometimes and get a percentage on the Sues in there. I think YYH is somehow honey to their flies. And it'd be sort of sickeningly fun to see if Kurama or Hiei wins in numbers.

And poor Kuwabara, exactly the chivalrous guy who really would care about them and sweep them off their feet if they have blue hair? Yeah, ignored. *cuddles him*

... Yes. Yes. YES. Let's do that. Okay--starting, say, this coming Monday, I'll take a sample of all the stories on the update page at some designated time, and will keep that time, and try to figure out the pecentage of Kurama- or Hiei-Sue!rapage. Let the mind-fucking investigations commence! *takers, anyone?*

Of course. He's not a sparkling bishounen with flower petals falling in the background (wait a minute, neither's Hiei ... huh?), so he's UGLY, duh.

Oh this will be so fun. I was just there, too, and it looks like Hiei's winning...
