Kicked in the dick by the world yet again-- we had some massive rainstorms yesterday, and two weeks after installing new carpet, my living room and basement inexplicably flood. (Which I found out about by my painters calling me and saying, "Hey, uh, did you know most of your downstairs is kind of wet?") So, tomorrow I'll argue with my insurance

LIQUID ARMOUR. AMAZING.
Also, re hiccoughs, I generally find that holding my breath works pretty good! And if you need to breathe, you let out your breath slowly via your nose and then take another breath through your mouth :) No water or contortions required ;P
WELL YOU SAY YOU WROTE MORE SCALY DICKS BUT I DON'T SEE ANY UP IN THIS POST ;_;
Man, Pan Pacs! the son of one of my doctors will be over there, I think he's in the free and the IM.
edit: dude the problem ("problem") with long posts is that there is so much to reply to that I always miss something! Which is to say: flooding augh :( I hope you can get things sorted out without too much drama :(

I've never succeeded by holding my breath; even when I do, I still hiccup. I know it's supposed to because of the diaphragm and all that, but it's just never worked for me that way. Bizarre. Whereas the orifice plugging and water drinking does something magical with pressure that always works for me!
THEY'RE COMING I JUST HAVE TO PICK AN EXCERPT. The problem with that story is I'm writing it all over the place, not at all in a linear fashion. So it's a chore to find bits that aren't too big a give away or make sense within the context of already posted bits.
Ooh, cool. I shall cheer for him in spirit.
No worries, and thanks for the well-wishes! Hopefully, this will all turn out well somehow in the end.

I call those silent hiccoughs! It happens sometimes when I hold my breath but most of the time they go away :)
YAY YAY I will await your excerpt with glee :3

Heh. For me they're more like convulsions, and I think they look weirder than the actual hiccup. Ah well.
Tomorrow! I'm kind of sad that there's, like, fifty more pages before I can bring in Thorpe.

Also, just to be perverse I will probably now include a cat meowing in the distance in any story I write.

Hee. The world could always use more cats, especially in literary settings! Also, I love your owl icon.

Also, I clicked that link about the mechanical mermaids dolphin tails (which was really fascinating), but then I saw one of the related links, which read "Hong Kong film-makers aim to be first in 3D porn." I blame you for the inevitable association.

AN ASSOCIATION I AM PROUD TO HAVE MADE! ...ugh. Given the general looks of your garden variety porn star, the 3D seems like it would be more scary than anything else.
