Oh wow, that was the perfect characterization. The entire thing was wonderful; very shrewd and perfectly Ian. I won't wuote back at you, because every line was memorable, but the last few lines really pulled it altogether in a wonderful way.
Wow, thanks! Ian's an intriguing guy; it's tough to get into his head. I'm glad the ending worked for you; I was kind of banging my head over it for a while.
I'm half-asleep over my computer, but I know that if I don't comment now I'll never come back to it--so I'm sorry that this isn't anywhere as glowing and long as it rightfully should be.
Seriously effing wonderful.
And out of everything, everything that's brillant about this little piece, the one tiny thing that sticks with me is the picture of Mike laying on the bed and tossing goggles at the ceiling fan. ^_^
Oh, no worries, I am been such a lazy bastard about commenting on many of the wonderful things passing through the comm (including yours!), I'm probably getting way more than I deserve. Thanks so much!
The goggles thing, oddly enough, actually came first out of everything. There's probably a whole progression of other things Michael's tried tossing at ceiling fans, with a wide array of after-effects.

No, dude, I love it that you're one of the only people who does non-angst very, very well. Like every time I read your work I get inspired to open up all these unfinished Word docs I have laying around and make them better.
Sorry about last night's crap feedback too. I was just leveled because I was eyeing my bedroom closet going, "I am so glad I brought Unfiltered with me to this podunk camp village" and then there you were.

Which is weird, because in 90% of my other fandoms, I love the angst. Anyway, it's mutual, because whenever I go back and read your things, it inspires me to work on the darker ones. (All, uh, two of them.)
Dude, no worries-- you have an exhausting new job and you must work hard for the moneys! Or something. That's kind of hilarious about the Unfiltered thing, though. God, I forgot how unintentionally funny that documentary is.

Crocker/Phelps is one reason.
Journey is another reason.
The beautifully crafted water metaphor is yet another.
The revelation of how gullible the press and public are is another.
But mostly, it's just really beautiful and everything I want in a fic and I don't need another reason to adore it.
