So I’ve voted, even though I am extremely wary of any voting system that lets politically ignorant doofuses like myself into the building. I have my “I voted!/Yo votè!” sticker and everything. The sticker is a nice bonus, but I bet they could get way more people to come to the polls if they served punch and pie afterwards. People get proactive for ( Read more... )

Dunno how easy it would be to get tickets, but they've got Tutankamen at the Field Museum right now. I was going to go, but ran out of money for vacation type things. It's supposedly the last time they're going to let it out on tour, but I think that's what they said last time.

Isn't it?! I wanted to send a gushing email to the webmaster when I found that site. I might still do it. XD

I love Google-- in Gmail's sidebar just now I found Chocolate Deities, which is fabulous in many ways, not least because they had a photo of this cake. *_*

Now THAT would be a wedding cake to remember....

I love humanity, just because it came up with that cake. Oh my God. I was going to try and convince my brother to have his wedding anniversary cake be one shaped like R2D2 from Star Wars, but this one has now just totally usurped it.

Although, you could combine the two ideas and stick Yoda next to the Buddha. That seems like a reasonable friendship.

Totally! I vote for one step further-- floating tiers, that way you can have a Buddha, a Yoda, /and/ the robot of your choice. And they'd all get their own lotus pedestals.

Hooray! I'm used to the museums in DC, so I definitely understand the need for an early starting time. I'll start doing some research online tonight and see what kind of arrangements I can dig up.

It will probably give me nightmares tonight, too. Thanks. Thanks a whole lot. ;_;
