Life sucks. Wear a hat.

So I’ve voted, even though I am extremely wary of any voting system that lets politically ignorant doofuses like myself into the building. I have my “I voted!/Yo votè!” sticker and everything. The sticker is a nice bonus, but I bet they could get way more people to come to the polls if they served punch and pie afterwards. People get proactive for ( Read more... )

Dunno how easy it would be to get tickets, but they've got Tutankamen at the Field Museum right now. I was going to go, but ran out of money for vacation type things. It's supposedly the last time they're going to let it out on tour, but I think that's what they said last time.

Ooh, that's definitely something to keep in mind. I'll have to work out how close my hotel is to various areas of interest. I can always get motivated for mummies.

I was just going to comment-- I went yesterday morning at 9.30 (took me about two hours to see it all, and I'm a slow-moving museum-goer). If you can drag yourself out of bed in time to make it before ten AM, you should totally buy an advance ticket and check it out! It's really incredible. After ten it started to become a bit zoolike, though. XD

OH and I almost forgot to mention the Institute of Art. The Silk Road exhibition stuff is cool, but what really wowed me was the Chinese art and the ginormous room full of European weaponry. Halberds and javelins and pikes, oh my. :D~

I almost hate myself for saying this, but giving me free cake would make me do nearly anything. XD Yes, I'm a cake whore.

I love cake! That is why if I ever plan to get myself embroiled in political fracas, I plan to have plenty of baked goods on hand.

You should have coffee with me! Or go see the Surrealism galleries at the Art Institute, because they are creepy as fuck.

It is not out of the realm of possibility! Where are you in Chicago? I’d probably have to dig out a map, and I don’t get too much free time, but I’d be willing to make a go for it if I could.

I'm in Hyde Park, on the South Side, but I can take the El to get basically anywhere (except Skokie.) What day might that be?

I think my free day will be Saturday. I will definitely get back to you on this; I need to check my schedule.

Oh yeah, and if you can see this CIA, fuck you.

I think it's more likely to be the FBI, really.

Nah, I'm an international issue, and I have socialist ideals. If there were three more people in this country who thought the same as me, the CIA would be here to participate in a coup to replace Tony Blair with an iron fisted junta, and train death squads to crush the population.

That's smucktastic!

See, when I was little, I watched this show about gnomes a couple of times, but I am nearly positive it was not David the Gnome. Louise and I fight about this all the time.
