It so is canon! Lupin was miserable ever since Sirius disappeared! He got married too fast, he felt terrible about it, he needed a kid to make him realize he was being an ass, he died and then looked happy again reunited and it feels so good. Dude, our ship is canon and ALIVE. Hahahaha. :P
I was just thinking of the way some shippers truly expected S/R to become canon, and how they whined and accused Rowling of all kinds of horrible things when it didn't.
And also, that's not what the books were about. If it had made some sort of narrative sense, okay. It would have been nice, of course, but I'm not greatly bothered by the fact that all the couples on Harry's radar were straight.

Yeah, the whiners are silly. JKR is pretty cool, but she's not gonna say "hey kids, Remus has sex with guys!"
Slash has been subtextual in most fandoms for, what, 40 years? I think it'll survive a while longer without being canon. XD
