Wow, that was a lot of layovers. Was your trip back home any better streamlined? Very pretty pics from the air, and, of course, on the ground. Powell's! Mt. Hood! Green Willamette Valley landscapes! Adorable puppy! OMSI! Sounds like, overall, you had a pretty good time? I would live quite happily in Portland, although I admit it might take some getting used to - all those wet days.
Oh, much! We flew through Chicago which made a LOT more sense. Plus we flew back using Southwest, which I find I like - inasmuch as I can like an airline.
In the Pacific northwest, it's really only super-rainy in the autumn and winter. I lived in Seattle for five months - end of May through beginning of November - and I recall a LOT of blue skies. But it does have that reputation. Anyway, I would definitely go back to Portland.
Awesome pictures! Glad you had such a good time. I've never made it to Portland, yet, but I hope to some day. I've got cousins in Corvallis, so I'd love to combine both places in one trip.
You should. It's a lovely little city. I mean, it surely has its problems - I did notice quite a lot of homeless people - but I also saw a guy do an abrupt about-face on the sidewalk and pick up a piece of trash that he hadn't dropped. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that before when they weren't part of some cleanup task force.
